This is a really handy tool. A friend of mine has a similar device, but theirs was harder to read and understand. This one is much clearer — the lights and signals make it easy to tell what the device is detecting, and it also comes with simple instructions. Like many others, I wanted this for a few different reasons, but mainly for travel. I already ordered a carbon monoxide detector, and this is another device I plan to bring with me. Unfortunately, you hear stories about hidden cameras in hotel rooms, Airbnbs, or even on airplanes. Having something like this gives me peace of mind that I can quickly check my surroundings and know if anything improper is going on. After comparing this to my friend’s version, I really prefer this updated design. It feels more modern, easier to use, and definitely worth it for the extra safety and awareness when traveling. Works as described. Took me a while to figure it all out AND you will need your reading glasses to read the directions but one I figured it out, it’s been quite simple to use. I tried it out at my house and my family’s house( both of us have lots of cameras and stuff) and it picked up all of them. This is gonna be very useful when travelling and staying in seedy motels. Also comes in handy in dressing rooms! I feel this is something every female should own. Also, parents should be aware this exists. I have been telling people about it and I always give them the link to this specific product. It’s so easy to slip in a bag and discreetly check your surroundings. Read more
The media could not be loaded. This detector is pretty handy and gives peace of mind when traveling or staying in unfamiliar places. It’s easy to use, and the multiple modes and sensitivity levels let you scan for hidden cameras, bugs, or GPS trackers with good accuracy. The compact black design is discreet and portable, so I can keep it in a bag or car without it being noticeable. My only minor issue is that the instructions could be clearer for first-time users, but once you figure it out, it works well. I put it near my desktop that uses wifi and it detected it right away. Overall, a useful tool for security-conscious travelers. Read more
I recently ordered the “upgraded” version of the Spy Signal Hidden Camera Detector, and it has been a fascinating learning experience. Owning a spy signal detector is a total novelty for me. As a complete newbie with these kind of devices, I had to wrap my head around all the different signals it can detect—reflections, infrared, WiFi, Bluetooth, electromagnetic signals, and even a sensitive anti-theft function. This device is surprisingly intuitive for beginners; the menu layout is straightforward, and the instructions are clear, though I am sure I’ll get even better with more practice. One aspect that really impressed me is the sensitivity of the detector. It picked up my cell phone immediately when I brought it close, and it was almost impossible to snap a photo of the device without it chirping like crazy! For a test run, I took this “ghost signal detector” out of my fishing friend’s van, truck, and two boats. Using mostly the WiFi function, I mapped out all the signals we found. The main reason for checking the boats is a wild story—years ago, the state Fish and Game planted a GPS tracker on a commercial fisherman’s boat during an investigation, so we wanted peace of mind knowing that no tracking devices could be found around the boats, whether from the state or other snoops. After reviewing the map together, we figured out what each signal was, and thankfully, found nothing suspicious at this point. For anyone curious about all the invisible signals around them—or just wanting a little extra security—this detector is a fun and easy-to-use starter tool. Now that I have some grasp of how this detector works, I will take this device with me for another test run the next time I find myself in a hotel! Read more

Tried it on my wifi security camera and trail cameras. In the case of the security camera, the unit is already screaming from 10'-15' away. The trail cam is detected from a closer distance, presumably because it emits a weaker signal. I also detected some very strong signals on one side of the house that has no camera or wifi equipment, presumably triggered by my neighbor's very powerful routers. The little red filter is a bit stiff to deploy, and I am not too sure about its value, given that I can see the reflection of the red diodes with my naked eyes without looking through the filter. The magnet detector only works from a very close range. I am not entirely sure what it's for either. All in all, it does everything it claims to do; which merits full marks. Read more
I had an older version, and that worked great, and this one seems to follow suit, finding everything with ease (granted, I was sweeping known devices in my home... we'll put it through its paces with some travel soon enough). My two concerns involve the infrared filter: it takes a deft hand and some effort to slide it up, and the little LED's are easily visible through it (reflecting back, depending upon where/what you aim at), which almost seems to negate the purpose of catching the glint of a camera lens... But it's packed with neat detection features (the magnet detector caught me off guard, and is a nice touch!), and this little unit caught some Wi-Fi signals as well. Really a feature-packed, great value that brings added security and peace of mind! Read more
Not to sound like a pessimist, but I wasn’t actually expecting this to work…and then it did! It detected my interior cameras, which I thought was a fluke at first, so I unplugged them…the detector didn’t beep. Once they were back on and connected, it beeped! I’m definitely adding this to my travel safety gadgets going forward! Read more
I can only test this with devices I know are present, of course, but it does reveal those, so I assume it should work. I like its multifaceted design. Read more
