It's a good product, but best used with trays custom-made by your dentist. Yes, it will burn your gums white, but if it does you adjust the amount. Eventually you will find the proper amount that gives you minimal gum discomfort, if any. I put a little in the middle of each individual tooth tray and message it lightly away from my gums after inserting the tray. Works quite nicely. If you had your teeth whitened by the dentist, a refresher with this product once a week in your trays should keep your teeth nice and white forever. I'm a coffee and red wine drinker, so I suspect I need to use it more often than others, but it still works. Keep it refrigerated and one order should last for several months. I've used dental whitening products in the past. Somehow, I neglected whitening my teeth for many years, most likely due to other health problems. One day I noticed that my teeth were not as white as some crowns. So, I bought this product. It works as well as the gel that the dentist sold me. I probably used too much as I wanted to whitening the back of my teeth, so I'm on my second box. I am close to my goal, though I'm almost through with the second box. I ordered a third box, for maintenance. Some suggestions: Don't use too much of it will get on your gums and it will burn. Try to wipe off the excess with a tissue. If it still burns, take the whitening tray out and wipe off th excess. If it still burns, rinse your mouth and try another night. Do not use it nightly or your gums will get very sensitive. I have been using Ultra-White for years. It is a very good whitening agent and I have been very satisfied. Some of the reviews talk about burning and whitening of the gums. This is due to overfilling your teeth trays and the gel overflows onto your gums. Pretty much any peroxide gel will do this to your gums. You don't need to fill up your teeth trays. Put a smallish amount in the tray, and once you put the trays on your teeth, move the trays around a bit to spread the get on your teeth. After a few times you will get to know the right amount to use. I never have issues with burning/white gums or sensitive teeth. Just takes practice. Don't leave the gel on for more than 90 minutes. 60 minutes should do it. If you leave it on too long it will make your teeth sensitive. Read more

This product is exactly what the dentist had given me many years ago... of course, I had custom trays from the dentist which I continue to use to this day, but I always purcchase this brand..... don't waste your money on over the counter junk... this is so reasonably priced and works!!!!! I have used many gels and if you follow the directions to the letter you will love this one! It is not as thick as ones I've applied in the past and I used too much the first time I tried it. My teeth were a little sensitive after the 4th day of use so i took a few days off and will now start again, I have some desensitizing gel I purchased from my dentist a couple years ago, I will use it if i have that problem again. My husband got me 2 boxes for Christmas after I mentioned I would like to whiten my teeth. I hadn't heard of this product before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. he didn't realize when he ordered this, that you really need a custom dental trays for best results. Fortunately, I still had mine from 10 year ago( I went the dental route on whitening & paid A Lot more one & only time, a decade ago.) My experience so far has been this. It does make my teeth a little sensitive, so I do it about once every 3 days. I like that's it's super easy and I can see some results each time. But, it seems that it isn't whitening evenly & slightly spotted on all my teeth. My dental trays still fit perfectly, so I'm not sure why this would happen. This whitening gel is wonderful! I have been very happy with the results and love having a white smile. When I first recieved this product I used it every other night at bedtime for almost 2 weeks until I recieved my desired color. My gums and teeth can be sensitive but I have found this whitening gel does not make it worse. Other brands that I have used made my gums sore and my teeth throb but this one is really gentle. I use it 1 to 2 times a week for maintaining my white smile. Sometimes I will use it in the morning during my shower instead of during bedtime and it works really well!
