I try to keep assorted sizes of this type of auto fasteners on hand. You never know what size you will need, so I like to have plenty to try. I was recently installing halogen headlights in my 1995 Tacoma, and the pins that secure the turn signal assembly were in pretty bad shape. I whipped out my collection of push-in fasteners, found one that fit, and the turn signals are secured! The fasteners were not designed for a Toyota, but worked fine. It may take a bit of trial and error to find a fastener that will work for your situation. It should go without saying that because these push-in fasteners are inserted into an expanding sleeve, they are typically only useful situations that require a fastener to be inserted in a hole. This set of automotive fasteners comes in a very nice plastic case that has a great documentation of what is in each compartment. I think this may be the first product with a plastic case that actually survived the fulfillment process. Generally plastic cases arrive cracked along with destroyed hinges. I’m shocked that this case survived, but I’m very happy that it did. It makes the pieces so much easier to store and to retrieve. I first received an empty envelope with the tracking number for this item, with the Amazon site reporting that I had received the item. I tried contacting Amazon and their bot advised me to return the unreceived product and request a refund. I contacted the seller and they told me to apply for a refund and place a new order, which was not possible with a product received via Vine. Despite this abundance of unhelpfulness, the next day I received another package, again with the correct tracking number for the item, but this time it actually contained the item! Yay! I own a 2016 Chrysler Town and Country. I recently had to replace the radiator, which meant removing the retainer clips from the front and side panels. When I pulled them out I knew that I wouldn't be able to reuse most, if not all of them. I saw this kit and ordered it. The retainer clips worked perfectly. In fact, I think these are working better than the ones I took off my vehicle. The kit does have several different kinds of retainers for different needs and/or scenarios. If you are in the habit of removing interior or trunk panels in automobiles - i.e. stereo installer, service technician or DIY guy or gal who likes to keep their own car, then you know all about those "specialty fastener" situations on door panels. Auto manufacturers are always cutting corners, eliminating tedious old fashioned screws and bolts to hold things on. Yup, they love, and I mean absolutely adore custome one-off fasteners that can pop in place, saving them three seconds on the assembly line (or whatever). Of course, this means you the consumer can't easily remove said fastener. Even worse, heaven forbid that you break one of these little puppies. Dealers often don't stock them, and parts stores are iffy as well. That's where this kit comes in. Now right off, I'll tell you there are literally hundreds of designs, often custom to a particular manufacturer, so this kit isn't going to cover everything. Besides that, it is all black, so as long as your interior is black, you're good to go... :-) But in spite of that, I give this product five stars, because it is better to light a candle than curse the darkness, right? :-) This supplier is at least trying to give folks out here in the real world a fighting chance at keeping those panels in place when they do their own work. For that, they get my five star. These fasteners are many of the common types, including those push-pin two pieces units, plus those "clip on the back of the panel and push into a hole in the door" types. Pros - it exists, and is better than nothing. Well organized in the typical fashion, with dimensions as well as photograph of type. Kit covers a lot of popular types both European and U.S. Cons - all black plastic, no other colors. Mouldings are a mixture of average quality surface finishes. Thanks to this manufacturer for trying. Would be nice if they offered common color kits, like tan, beige, and gray - all in a range of perhaps two or three shades? This is a nice assortment of clips to keep in the garage. You never know what size you'll need when you're working on something, so having a variety is helpful. The case is well organized with labels showing what's in each compartment, which makes it easy to find what you need. I was surprised the case actually arrived intact without any cracks. I've used a few of these for various fixes and they work fine. Sometimes you need to try a couple different sizes to find one that fits, but that's expected with these types of fasteners. Read more
