The 23andMe Health-Only Service was such a cool experience. I loved that it was just a saliva sample—no finger-pricking, no blood, nothing stressful. The reports were easy to understand, and I learned so much about my genetic health and different predispositions. Highly recommend if you’re curious about your own biology. Read more

I want to reiterate another review as I had the same experience: "I would rate this product zero stars if I could. The description was misleading, and this product was completely overpriced compared to what you would pay for on the 23 and Me website. Please be advised that this product is HELATH ONLY and you are not able to add ancestry after the fact. This product was $99 when I purchased it and on the 23 and Me website right now the health plus ancestry pack is $99. This is a scam. This is a rip off. Do not buy this product. Plus, the health insights are not in depth and don’t offer much more than generic descriptions." Read more
I have had questions about my biological father as well as questions about my genetic make-up. This test answered a lot of questions and easy instructions. I was able to send it out the next day. It also gave me a website to track the package, so I know when they received it. It made the waiting period a bit easier with the updates. It takes approximately 6 weeks for the results to come back. The report indicates if you carry genes for certain inherited conditions, which was very valuable to me seeing how I only know half of my relative's medical history. Unfortunately, I did not read the fine print and was disappointed with what would be included with this product. I will now have to purchase the ancestry portion separately. Although there are some helpful insights, I am not sure the product is worth the cost. Read more
I knew nothing about my background and this test has given me a lot of answers. If you are also a person who is mix or you don’t even know you’re mix and suspect it. I would highly recommend it. I was born in El Salvador and never really met family outside of my parents. My parent themselves don’t even know their ancestry. Turns out I was born in El Salvador, but I am not even half Latina. I am 70% mix European and the 30% American indigenous. I look Asian so I totally thought I had Asian in there lol Read more
Results took about 3-4 weeks to receive which was sooner than expected. However results seemed rather limited in scope. Mostly useful for the RAW data you can download at the end and input into other tools to analyze and produce detox and methylation panels. Overall I'm not disappointed that I've done it since a few red flags are screened for that could be life saving for some, but overall the I felt the reports to be underwhelming. Read more
While the pre-generated reports from the 23andMe Health-only Service are nice, I loved having access to my genetic data to research independently. The health predispositions, carrier status, and wellness reports did meet my expectations, but the real value for me was in accessing the raw data and exploring my genes on my own. This service is perfect for those who want to take control and investigate their genetic information autonomously. The process of collecting the sample and receiving the results was smooth and efficient. Overall, if you enjoy delving into genetic research independently, this service provides the necessary tools to do so. Read more
