Made of plastic, not metal, otherwise OK
Despite the listing's description of these stands as "alloy" and "metal", they're actually plastic painted to look like metal--I used a razor blade to scrape off a bit of the silver coating, and found ordinary whitish translucent plastic underneath. Other than that, they look almost like the images in the listing, except for the obvious indentations and raised ridges along the sides of the legs that are the result of the plastic injection molding process. Maybe these are knockoffs of similar-looking feet/risers that are actually made of metal, but if you want metal, you'll have to look elsewhere, and try to get a straight answer from another seller as to whether what they're selling really is metal. That said, they seem somewhat sturdy for plastic, and once I installed them onto my laptop, they did the job they're intended for, and my laptop was stable and didn't rock unevenly. But being plastic, it's hard to say how long they'll hold up, especially for people who put their laptops into a bag or backpack regularly. Read more
