Good value! I paid $7.59 per pair (~ $3.80 each). More than adequate for an emergency fire starter. The rods are smaller but that just means lighter weight. So, unless you're going to depend on one of these as your primary fire starting choice (and for most people, I daresay this method is for when all else has failed) they'll still last for years.
