Most pants that fit me in the hip are huge in the waist. When I try to fix the issue with a leather belt I have to tighten it so much that's it's uncomfortable to sit and work in. I bought these hoping it would be a good solution and it was. I can cinch them up tight enough to properly hold my pants while standing/walking and the stretch allows it to be comfortable through long periods of desk work. The only downside is, when you undo the belt it retracts through belt loops and is a but cumbersome to re-latch but, that's to be expected with an elastic. This is perhaps one of the simplest, adjustable, and functional belt designs I have ever used. It is perfect for every day use for shorts and pants that need just a bit of elastic performance to cinch the waist band WITHOUT adding any bulk. After borrowing my daughter's belts of like-kind several times, I finally purchase a couple for myself. I have used these dozens of times now, and the elastic has not lost it's shape. Most of the time my top or tshirt covers the belt anyway, so it's ordinary appearance and flatness is perfect for my use. When I need a fashion belt for styled dressing, I use something more dressy. These are fantastic when you don't want to wear a traditional belt. I am very small (5'4", 105 lbs,) and I don't like the look of a form-fitting top bulging out because the belt buckle makes a lump at your waist. However, I cannot get by without wearing a belt at work because I must wear keys and a radio attached to my pants - which makes them fall down if I don't wear a belt. These perfectly do the trick - act as a belt, but are very low-profile. They aren't as attractive as a traditional leather belt, but they aren't unattractive either - so you won't be embarrassed by people seeing it if your shirt rides up. They are adjustable for all waist sizes. The only down side is that they don't stay put very well when you take your pants down to use the restroom. Because of the elastic in the belt, it tends to retract back a bit once unbuckled and you are seated, so you have to pull it back through your belt loops at the front when you go to pull your pants back up. Not inconvenient enough to lower the rating. Five stars - good product. Read more
