The title of this product makes me laugh, it's like they couldn't figure out how to describe it. A lip balm, lip butter, lip gloss, or lip serum? After trying it out, I'd say that it's best classified as a lip gloss. This set gives you four shades, each with its own sweet fragrance that matches the name of the shade. Although they smell sweet, they have no flavor that I could detect, and the scent fades pretty quickly. As shown in my pics, when I put a sample of each one across the top of my hand, the colors appear to be fairly saturated (and they're pretty colors too). And when you go to apply one, you'll see that color on your lips. But once you rub your lips together, the color fades down a LOT, leaving behind just a hint of color (I'm wearing the cherry one in my picture). The pictures shown by the seller are deceiving in that regard. I suppose you could layer the product on heavily and achieve that color result, but it would be incredibly thick and goopy and would probably end up smearing and making a mess. I wouldn't say that these actually hydrate the lips either - if your lips are very dry, I don't think they will help heal the issue, but they do seem to lock in the moisture that's already there. If these glosses were priced higher, I would have given this 3 stars, but because they're priced so reasonably for a set of four colors ($13.99 at the time of this review), I'm only deducting one star, mainly because the pics are misleading as to color when worn, and because I didn't really get a "soothing and softening" result from them. What I want in a tinted lip gloss is a little tint and not that much gloss. I want it to keep my lips from drying out without making them slick or greasy feeling. It should have an applicator that is easy to control so I'm not getting too much product, or feel like the gloss is becoming messy in the tube. As far as I can tell, this gloss hits most of these criteria well, and so it work for me. I do see a tint, but it is only a slight tint. If I want more than that I use lipstick, which this does not claim to be. There is an aroma but no taste at all. This is another positive for me. I don't mind the pleasant smell, but I'm not looking for something to lick off my lips. I'm looking for something to seal in the moisture. I like that it does not look like I'm wearing lip gloss. It just slightly tints my lips a pleasant natural shade. No slickness, no grease. The applicator (see photo) is slanted and makes it easy to dispense just a touch of gloss exactly where you want it. There were several choices, and I chose the trio that gives 3 different pinkish or beige tones, and they are exactly the natural shades I want to use for everyday. Nothing fancy. Thumbs up! I am reviewing Glaze Craze Tinted Lip Balm - Java Chip. (Fafamoon) I find this lip balm very lacking in providing moisturization/hydration to lips. The first ingredient is mineral oil which is a petroleum product that I try to avoid on my skin. When applied to the lips, mineral oil is known to seal in the moisture that is already in the lips. Typically, my lips are a bit drier than I prefer so I want a lip balm that moisturize/hydrate/soothe my lips and then protect my lips. From the ingredients, I cannot determine any ingredients that provide moisturization. In addition, I cannot detect any color on my lips from the balm. I will not continue to use this product. Hydrating lip serum that is tinted. These are all flattering tints, They are pigmented enough to be able to see it, but transparent enough to enhance lip color without being too much. These all have different scents even though they are called blackberry sorbet. There is one that is Blackberry scented, a vanilla toffee, a gummy candy, and a wild cherry. I like getting set like this that I can try out, pick my favorites and share the rest. In this set my favorites are the blackberry sorbet and the vanilla toffee. The gummy candy is ok, mildly scented and a pretty color. This lip gloss is smooth and silky it is not sticky at all. It really does seem to melt into your lips and feels very hydrating, almost better than my current overnight lip mask. Read more
