The first and third pictures are of a light that is just the bulb and like 100 watts candescent. It's so weird looking in the picture, but as you can see, it lights up the ceiling more than anything. The second and fourth pictures are of the OPENLUX High Bay LED Light. As you can see, there is quite the difference. I really like the fact that the light is a neutral color and that it spans the whole area. This thing is made of metal and is a heavy duty light. I also like the fact that it can be plugged in rather than wired - then you can move it to another location if you need it there. I told my husband I really want one for the kitchen - just hard-wire it in above the island - instead of the "just okay" light we have there right now. He said that it would be way too bright for the kitchen, but I don't know... I think I would like to have tons of light when I am cooking. We are impressed with this light and highly recommend it. We will be back for another one. Read more

Wow, this LED really puts out some lumens. I'm hanging it in our barn for working on vehicles and such on these dark winter days. I won't be using the dimming feature, as you need a 0-10V variable voltage power supply. This lights does, however, work just fine plugged in as is -- it simply outputs full power. Read more
This very bright UFO light arrived well packaged in a hearty box with styrofoam protection. I appreciate the attention of care to get the product undamaged to the customer and it was delivered fast too. Bravo! The all metal light is painted very nicely in white including the hanging hook. Comes with the power cord and an attached 3 prong plug with a prong protector on the 3 prongs, nice packaging all the way around! The other cord is a short pigtail with the ends covered in a rubberized wire insulating material that you would remove to connect to a dimmer if desired. The hook has a locking screw to keep it secure after installation, nice attention to detail. Comes with very easy to understand instructions that is illustrated in color. It looks so nice I’m finding it hard to place it in the ceiling of my hayloft… Highly recommend this UFO and hope that it takes you to where you need it to go with it :) Read more

This is my first UFO light so I need to figure out how I will hang it. My goal is to use it during repainting my home's interior so I will probably get a work light tripod stand. This light is super bright at 22,500 lumens. The brightest E26 bulb I have is only 1500 lumens so this is equivalent to 15 of those. The picture is lighting up my back patio at night with no other lights on. This light is very heavy and does produce some heat. It does not look like it can be hardwired in, and the wires coming out of it are for a dimmer switch according to the directions. I don't understand what the dust cap is for with the L and H on either side but perhaps it is for monitoring ambient light to adjust the brightness automatically with a smart dimmer switch. I have old fashioned tube lights in my garage which provide very little useable light for when I am painting. I wanted lighting that is good for doing intricate tasks when I'm painting and crafting. I was a bit worried about these as they said bay lights and I thought the lighting would be too harsh. However, these have turned out to be just the solution for my garage. Plug them in straight out of the box, these lights illuminate a really large area, and the light is bright clear and daylight white. I can clearly see when I am painting, and the light produces a daylight glow. This light is perfect if you are a painter because it actually represents the true colors of the paints you are using. The lighting isn't harsh and is pleasant on the eye. A great solution for dark garages. Read more

Totally plug and play - an effortless and affordable way to get you what you need where you want it. The photo I attached to this shows this 150 watt OPENLUX high bay light hanging to a beam that is 13' from the ground. The area being illuminated is a 45' deep x 22' wide hay storage area turned into vehicle storage. It easily illuminates 50% of the area and if the area were enclosed, I believe it'd be greater. My .02, Unless one was to utilize the dimmable ability, I would not mount a 150 watt light of this type any lower than the recommended 12' with 14' being probably more appropriate. The fixture itself feels substantial and well made and the 5' cord makes things easier. All in all, a solid product. Read more

You do not have to install a dimmer switch. The light is corded and will come on a full brightness when plugged in. I am using this in my den where i do electronic repair because it looks really nice. They give you a hook that has a safety latch (long screw) built in. I would put some blue loctite on the screw before screwing it in. Not necessary but I lean towards the prevent it if it could happen. There is a safety screw in the side of the threaded hole but I don't like doing any possible damage to threads or threaded holes. This is not a big deal just a preference of mine. The screws are JIC 2 but a phillips will work. Read more
