I currently have a metal screen insert for the tub drain. This will provide a more attractive cover for the drain although will not catch as well due to the raised edge over the suction cups. So, I will leave the screen in place and cover it with this white square to provide a more attractive appearance to the drain. It will also be more comfortable to step on than the metal edge of the screen. Important to note is that the suction cups will stick to a smooth surface, but not a textured, non-slip surface often used on a tub or shower floor. Because of this, I have two suction cups secured to the smooth edge at the edge of the tub floor to hold it in place even though the other two do not stick to the textured floor surface. For my use, it is more for improved appearance than function. If my tub had a smooth surface, I might not need the screen drain catch underneath as the edge would be secured at all four corners by the suction cups. And if used specifically to catch contact lenses in a sink without water running, this silicone drain cover would probably do the job well for soft lenses or any other item that would not be able to slide under the edge when secured well. 3-pack of flexible drain covers. White in color, roughly 5" x 5". The listing doesn't show the backside -- which has 4 low profile suction cups in the corners -- which obviously help keep it in place. The material is durable and flexible, but not soft and floppy. It is about 1/16" thick. They are easy to trim with a regular scissors -- I chopped one up to add an extra layer of hair catching under the cover of a linear shower drain. I'd show you a picture but -- you really don't want to see under there -- trust me. It should remove easily for cleaning and reuse. Got a 3-pack for one low price -- should last a long long time. I'm sure these work great on flat-bottomed sinks, but for those of us with traditional oval-shaped bathroom sinks, the suction cups warp the surface of the tool, which leaves gaps between the sink and silicone wide enough to lose a contact lens. I may try some other strategies to enable these to lay flat, but it seems to defeat the purpose of these if they can't prevent a contact lens from slipping between the sink surface and the silicone filter. Otherwise, they seem to be made of quality materials and the finish is fine, so I had such high hopes for these. Read more

These silicone contact lens saver mats work great. I've worn lenses all my life and handle them under running water to rinse off lens cleaner before rinsing and storing them in solution. I sometimes worry about losing one down the drain when I'm tired. With this handy little mat in place, I am more confident about not losing a lens. It sticks well to porcelain and stainless steel, yet is easy to remove and place I'm a new spot. It is unobtrusive and covers the drain perfectly. I'm happy to have these handy mats for my kitchen and bathrooms. Read more

These sink covers, although have finer holes, don’t stay in one place due to poor suction of the suction cups, and the gap between the suction cups and the cover creates a space that allows hairs to pass through below the cover creates. Not a good design. Read more

The concept is absolutely brilliant, I've always been paranoid about losing a lens down the drain. It's a simple idea: a silicone sink cover to act as a safety net. The silicone material itself feels durable, and the little grate design is smart for letting water drain while catching a lens, or hair, or rings, etc. It seems easy to clean, too. However, the main issue is that it just doesn't stay in place very well. The super-grip silicone feature they mention in the description isn't as "super" as advertised. The second the sink gets slightly wet or soapy, the mat starts sliding around. It's constantly moving, which totally defeats the purpose of providing a stable safety net. I have to constantly adjust it, which is annoying and doesn't inspire confidence that my lens will actually be saved if I drop one. For a pack of three, the price is also a bit high considering how often they shift around. It's a decent backup plan if I'm extremely careful, but it's not the reliable, set-it-and-forget-it solution I was hoping for. Read more

These contact lens saver mats do exactly what they’re designed for—protecting lenses during daily cleaning and handling. They’re easy to use, low maintenance, and provide peace of mind. While placement can take a moment depending on the sink, they’re still a very helpful tool and worth having for regular lens care. Pros: • Prevents lenses from going down the drain • Easy to clean and reuse • Works well for hard, scleral, and specialty lenses • Convenient 3-pack Cons: • May need adjustment on uneven sink surfaces • Suction is not that great Read more

This is going to save us from losing an Ortho-K lens down the drain, and honestly that alone makes it worth it. It grips really well to the sink, stays put, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do without getting in the way. Super easy to clean, easy to store, and one of those “why didn’t we get this sooner?” items. Having three is also nice so you can keep extras where you need them. Pros: Prevents lenses from going down the drain Grips the sink well Easy to clean Simple but super effective Read more
