​I originally picked up this three-pack of cotton skull caps with a specific plan in mind: my birds love to sit on my head, and I thought they’d have a blast climbing down the ties in the back while protecting me from any droppings. Unfortunately, the vibrant red, white, and blue colors absolutely terrified them! While they won’t work for my feathered friends, the product itself is actually really impressive. ​The craftsmanship is excellent, with solid stitching that feels like it’s built to last. The fabric is that high-quality, "crispy" cotton—it reminds me of a brand-new quilt that you just know is going to get softer and more comfortable with every wash. One of the best features is the inner liner; it's a soft, towel-like material that’s great for absorbing sweat and adds a lot of comfort. ​I was also worried about the sizing, but these are very versatile. My husband is 6'2" and has a pretty large head, and they still fit him comfortably thanks to the adjustable ties. I like to wear one of these under a bikie helmet. It adds an extra layer of padding to the helmet itself, and prevents sweat from running into my eyes on those long grunts (not so much in wintertime). The absorbent sweatband can also be folded down, not shown in the photo, to cover more of my forehead and ears in chilly weather. I also use these for other things that require upward visibility, such as tree trimming and working in the crawl space, where a cap isn't that suitable. Good value. I exercise outside several days a week all year, cycling and running, so I use skull caps to keep the sun off my head and sweat out of my eyes. Hats tend to lock in heat and limit airflow, and brims are easily caught by the wind. My skull caps get frequently washed and don't maintain their structure and elasticity forever, so when I saw these pop up 3 for $9.99 I had to give them a try. The main issue I tend to have with skull caps is the fit. I bought a few over the years that wouldn't pull down to the top of my ear attachment points and felt like they were going to shoot off like a rubber band while I exercised. I typically wear a medium in helmets and don't have a particularly large head, so having one-size-fits-all skull caps feel extra small is annoying. These skulls caps do not have that issue, if anything they seemed a touch on the big side. But because you tie these (no elastic), when I'm diligent, I can get them to fit comfortably snug. For those with men's size Large punk'ns, they'll likely be ideal. The material is pretty stiff cotton, so expect to wash them a few times before they soften. They are thin enough to breathe a bit, which is necessary to get some moisture wicking especially in a cotton skull cap. They do have a terry layer on the inside of the front half which is a nice upgrade, a commendable feature at this price point. My biggest complaint is the styling. The bits that have American flag graphics look like they put the flag into a wood chipper and randomly stitched it back together, most notable on the fully 'flag' one of the three. The 'flame' one is so random it doesn't look like flames, so we'll call it 'flame inspired'. The images of these first two in the Amazon ad look more deliberate and symmetrical. The last one has a skull on the front (which you can't see in any of the pictures in the ad!) and whole flag graphics on the sides--I easily like the styling on this one the best by far. I like the designs of these caps... I have been leaning towards the one in the pics... i like the dark , semi- subdued color scheme... The caps are made of a very light and breatheable fabric... i can see through it...very light... i like this feature... The fabric quality is good... my head is cooler while working in it... it is a nice large size too...fits great on my over-sized cranium... many caps have a smaller.tighter fit for me.. this one feels great ...fits perfect.. Excellent set of 3 skull caps with patriotic theme. Cloth is all cotton with US flag on them. Its breathable and quick dry which helps in summer months. The tie down straps in the back have plenty of adjustment to accommodate varying head sizes. Excellent buy! Read more
