Shipping was on time, and the delivery was smooth. My husband decided to install it himself, and it was straightforward with no glitches. Got it installed in about 30 minutes. My wife had decided to remodel our kitchen and wanted a microwave cubby instead of an over the range or countertop type. The cubby would not take a countertop microwave with trim easily enough, so I went with this Summit microwave set. It is a top notch microwave and worth every penny (almost). I will say that I did not install it, so I cannot speak to the easy of installation. Our contractor installed it and said it was pretty straight forward, so take that as you will. The materials seem to be high quality and everything. The microwave itself is fairly quiet compared to most I have heard and used over the decades. My wife and daughter were not sure it was on when they first used it. It was working and does cook quickly. The microwave provides 1200 watts and is 2.2 cu ft inside (large enough to fit a turkey in it). There are tons of buttons that have been pretty standard over the years on the control panel. The 30-second add on button is the same as the Start button on this model. I know that design decision saved space for other buttons, but I would have preferred a separate button like others I have used. The start button could wear out more depending on your usage. Also, the clock is a green color just in case you are wondering. All microwaves made in the past decade seem to have a child lock feature now that is pretty annoying, but at least this model allows you to disable it forever. Some other microwaves reset after a power outage, but not this one. The manual and a separate card tell you how to disable the child lock forever. It can be enabled again if needed later on. The trim piece is of pretty good quality as well and screws into the cupboard around the microwave. I will say that another review stated a gap appeared around the microwave unlike the picture showing a tight fit. I agree with that review as I do have a 1 inch gap on the left and right sides (see pictures). The gaps are symmetrical and not really standing out to anyone, so I think it is fine. But I see where someone could be disappointed with the look. Not sure if that gap is purposeful to allow venting and prevent fire hazards. Overall, I would highly recommend this unit if you need a microwave to put into a cabinet. It is quiet, powerful, feature rich, and looks good. The cost is a bit much (seems to be those trim pieces based on my research), but know that you do get quality for the price. Read more

I bought this to replace a ge built in microwave that we have had for 12 years. ge no longer make a built in microwave. All built ins (as opposed to over the range) are counter top microwaves with a facia plate including a vent system that attaches to the front of the cabinet, this one is the same. The difference with this is that the fascia is included in the price, the others were extra and cost nearly as much as the microwave itself. It came very well packaged and was delivered via UPS, the assembly was easy and the instructions were clear and concise, we had the old one out and the new one installed in about an hour. Everything was strong and robust, all of the holes lined up exactly as they should and the finished installation looked great. Read more

Really pay attention to all the dimensions for both the Microwave and faceplate. The manufacturer does not detail the dimensions as well as they should. I had a lot of additional work to make MW fit, had to cut out drywall and part of a 2x4 stud. Faceplate did not fit too high on top dimensions due to how MW fits once it sits on elevated stand, FP blocks cabnet doors above MW. Will not be able to use FP, I will need to come up with a solution of my own. Read more

Very nice appliance. I was looking for a kitchenAid microwave and couldn’t find one that would fit our space. This one fit the bill nicely. Pleased with the functionality and overall look. The only con for me is the setting/clock light is green instead of white like my other kitchenAid appliances. Pretty basic but works well. Read more
