I ordered this power bank because I needed a way to power my Tailgater portable radio/speaker on the road. The speaker's battery was no longer functioning, and I figured a power bank was a more versatile investment than a single replacement battery. I tested the power bank by charging it up to 100% capacity then used it's AC mode to power my Tailgater on FM radio mode for 6 hours. The power bank's convenient display told me that my device was drawing 5 watts of power. After over 6 hours of continuous play, the power bank showed that its battery was still at 90% capacity - so a 5 watt draw for 6 hours used only 10 percent of the battery life! I should also note that I ran this test in an unheated breezeway with an ambient temperature of about 30 degrees - which is much colder than room temperature and typically harder on battery life. The Power bank includes a built-in flashlight, so I tested that next. There are 3 built in LED lights, a center "bright" light and two less bright outer lights. I ran all 3 lights for my test and the battery capacity showed 90% when I turned the lights on. The power bank's screen showed that the lights use about 2 watts of power. After three hours of running the lights at full brightness, the battery capacity still showed 90%. Battery capacity is only shown in increments of 10%, so you'll see 90% and then the next drop will show 80%. I let the power bank sit idle for a week, just to see whether there's any phantom power drain in storage. When I fired up the bank the battery level was still at 90%, so it hadn't dropped at all in a week's time. This power bank comes with one DC "lighter outlet" adapter cable that lets you run 12 volt devices that are powered through a "cigarette lighter" type automotive plug. I wish it had other cords or adapters for different types of 12v connectors. There are three 12v outputs on the power bank, but cables to use them (other than the one I mentioned) aren't included, so you'd need to purchase them elsewhere or make your own if you wanted to use all 3 DC outputs. I wanted to test the power bank's ability to charge my mobile phone, so I powered it on and plugged my phone into the USB-C port. The power bank started blinking as if it was charging FROM my phone - the opposite of what I wanted! I read the instructions, and to use the USB-C as an output, I needed to power on the bank and then press the DC button, then plug in my phone. Once I did that, my phone began charging as intended. This is important to note, so you don't accidentally drain the device you intend to charge! And just for the record, my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra was charged up an about an hour and the battery level on the power bank dropped to 80%. So the bank still had 80% battery life remaining after 6 hours of running an AC speaker (5 watts current draw), 3 hours of running the built in LED lights (2 watts current draw), and 1 hour of charging a phone (8 watts current draw). Living in Minnesota, I’ve learned the hard way that power outages are just part of life, especially during storms or winter weather. That’s exactly why I wanted to try this portable power station. It’s small, lightweight, and easy to store, which makes it a nice little backup option to have around. This unit has a 270Wh battery and a 300W output, which means it’s really meant for smaller electronics. It worked well for charging phones, tablets, a laptop, and running a small light or fan. The display is easy to read and the multiple ports are convenient when you need to charge several things at once. That said, I want to be honest for anyone thinking this will power big appliances. It won’t. With a 300W limit and modified sine wave output, this isn’t going to run things like coffee makers, heaters, or hair dryers. I have a Jackery 300 which you can now buy for $179 but I paid more years ago. This ECPOWSKEY 300 watt portable power station is quite like that but is only $119 or better yet $109 if you use the coupon. That's pretty good savings. Now the Jackery has a much better display but this one is quite adequate. The only thing I don't care for is the remaining power is represented by big green bars with a percentage displayed underneath. What bugs me is the displayed percentage remaining is shown to the nearest 10%. The unit came charged to 60% and I used it for quite a while and it never changed until it suddenly dropped to 50%. So you don't really know where in that 10% band you are. But I got used to it. Everything else is great. The two step led light is bright. On the back is a loud warning siren I have never seen before on a power station. Prepare yourself before you push that button. It is loud. There are four buttons along the top front face, one is a power on/off button, one turns on the a/c, one turns on the dc (three type A USB slots and one type C plus three barrel outputs), and the last turns on turns on the LED light. The a/c button energizes two 110v outlets that output modified sine wave electricity. Now my Jackery puts out full sign wave power but I never have needed that. This unit charges with an input barrel connector or also with input through the 2way type C port. I must say I really like this little power station. It is lightweight and doesn't take up too much space on the little table next to my easy chair. I recharge my cell phone and charge my laptop. The folding handle on top, when folded down, gives our new little kitten a place to repose and demand treats. When I sit outside I take this power station with me and plug it into a solar panel to charge. This also comes with a wall charger and a cigarette lighter adapter that can plug into a DC output barrel. No cigarette charging cable included. If you are looking to get your first power station, I recommend this one. The price is right and after you use this awhile, then you can move up to a 1000whr unit or larger. This is also perfect for camping as it is small and lightweight. I might get another for my wife. Read more
