Our kitchen is pretty small and I have little counter space. I've always had trouble finding a place to put the lids and dealing with the scalding hot water dripping everywhere. It's been even harder this last year living in a hotel after the hurricane with nothing but a kitchenette and 2 square feet of counter space - seriously! I had to clean the tiny sink before cooking so I could put the lids in there but there was still a scalding trail of water from the 2 burners to the sink. I thought someone must have come up with a solution for hot lids and no counter space so I looked and found this little miracle. I chose this one because it looked sturdy - it is VERY sturdy. I have heavy glass lids so I knew one of the cheaper plastic ones would fall over and break the lids. The removable, dishwasher safe tray catches all the hot water and mess from utensils. It takes very little counter space. It's compact, stable, and the most useful thing I've bought in forever! It would be even better if the u-shaped dip in the lid support went in deeper - our lids have handles, not knobs. The supports are made for knobs, but it still works great. Why didn't I know about a tool like this before? This lid holder answers a problem that I've struggled with since adding a larger pan and lid to my kitchen: where to put the lid when stirring or adding things to the pan? This lid holder is terrific. It feels very light, so I worried that it might topple over with two lids on it at the same time, but it doesn't! It holds the lids at the right angle to balance itself, and it collects drips from the lid(s) in a removable washable plastic tray. The surface is shiny chrome which looks nice and wipes up well.
