We do a lot of prototyping of electronics and some repair work. While I've used power driver/ impact drivers for many years in home repair, I've never used a power driver for this kind of precision work, and I was a bit skeptical about control. I was pleasantly surprised. This driver is easy to hold, the switches, forward & reverse, are well located on the side and it's easy to move from one to the other without having to take your eye off the work. The built in light (separate switch) is not super bright, but useful. The speed is slow enough that I don't worry about it running away, and I feel as if I can keep the fastener aligned more readily than I can with a manual screwdriver. I used this to remove some case screws that are pretty tight, and it had no problem developing enough torque. On the other side, putting in very small Phillips screws I didn't feel I was at risk of overpowering them- it was easy to control. And you can always use this handle manually- when not turning, the tip is locked. The included set of bits is not exhaustive and clearly geared towards computer/ electronics repair. Photo included as they are not really described in the product description as I write this. But if you are like me you have plenty of these bits around. Charging via USB-C is a big plus. I haven't used this enough to say how long a charge will last. I can see this replacing quite a few individual screwdrivers currently littering my bench with a small bitt holder containing the tips I commonly use, and this one handle. And anything that helps me reduce the clutter is a win in my eyes. Read more
I really wanted to love this screwdriver. In theory it sounded great but in practice it was let down by a few issues, some of which were not the fault of the product but of my expectations. The screwdriver is well built and all metal construction that feels quite sturdy. I had assumed that for the cost of it that it would have an automatic turn on function that rotated when turned but this is not the case and it is purely button operated. The actual rotation is quite slow and with that lies my biggest problem in that it is just quicker and easier to manually twist a screwdriver to undo or tighten a screw. I found that it actually slowed me down, not speed me up. It comes with a nice selection of bits and a case but I think I will just stick with a manual screwdriver from now on. Read more
Upon opening the box, I was surprised at how many pieces this set comes with. A lot of screws to handle most small electronic and even glasses repair if needed. Another feature do I love the most is just it having a flashlight within the driver itself. I tend to work on my desktop pc from time to time to either clean or maintain it and this will be handy for the times my own shadow tends to get in the way of what I'm reaching for. If I was to nitpick it would be the fact that the screwdriver doesn't lock in your bit. All that's holding it to your driver is just magnets. Thankfully device is just to handle small screws and does come with a magnetizer so I don't see it being a problem in the short term. Another nitpick is you will have to keep everything in the product box as once outside it'll be quite easy to lose. Not too much of a problem as you are already getting quite a lot of the price. Speaking of price, this feels a bit on the cheap side for a set. So with that said I would recommend it as a buy. Read more
I have used this more than I honestly thought that I would! It’s so nice to not have my hand cramp around a small little screwdriver as I unscrew ports for batteries from Christmas presents and other games and electronics. It’s got way more heads than I think I’ll probably ever use, but I’ll certainly try. I’m excited to use this to potentially fix my wife’s computer battery, and hopefully someday use it to help build my own PC. I think I would recommend more to anyone who interacts with lots of smaller components and screws, since it doesn’t have the torque needed for anything medium to larger. I would especially recommend it though if you like to fix your technology yourself, or if you have interest in trying to do that, I think this is a great purchase. The controls are intuitive and easy to use. The flashlight is the perfect brightness to see what you are doing but not wash out the work area. There are two gears, and there's enough power to work with even larger screws in plastic (like with Nerf toys) that are traditionally harder to remove due to friction. It doesn't have a manual lock mode for use as an unpowered screwdriver, but it seemed to work fine to just use it that way without explicitly locking anything. The tool charges with USB-C PD, which is a nice thing. Many USB-C ports are only chargeable from a USB-A charger, but this tool can charge with just about any charger. I could wish for better bit storage, but for the price, this is a perfectly functional tool with easy-to-reach controls even for large hands. Read more
This is a great little screwdriver for my small electronics. I've been wanting a driver like this for quite a while. Removing and installing dozens of the super small fasteners on circuit boards and small electronics makes my fingers cramp. Being able to just push a button and have the tool do the work is a game changer. It has a wide variety of interchangeable bits too. Way more than I'll probably ever use. And the light is amazing. It's not "spotlight bright", but it's bright enough to see what you're doing. I don't know about the battery life yet, but will update my review if disappointed. I also like that it came in a box suitable for storage. That's a good extra. Very happy with this so far and would recommend. Read more
