This bottle may look humble, but inside it lies culinary magic. The moment you uncap the 365 by Whole Foods Market Toasted Sesame Seed Oil, you’re greeted by a deep, nutty aroma so powerful it could awaken an entire kitchen from slumber. Just a drizzle transforms a plain stir-fry into a restaurant-level masterpiece. Aroma: intoxicatingly rich, perfectly balanced between smokiness and sweetness. Flavor: bold but not overpowering — a golden whisper of roasted sesame that dances on rice, noodles, or dumplings. Texture: silky smooth, coating each grain and vegetable like liquid amber. Performance: a few drops go a long way. It turns ordinary soy sauce into gold and even humble ramen into luxury cuisine. This oil doesn’t just season food — it tells a story. A story of ancient woks, midnight feasts, and chefs who understand restraint. Whether you’re finishing a dish or marinating tofu, this toasted elixir makes you feel like a Michelin-starred chef commanding flavor itself. 🔥 Verdict: 5/5 — A small bottle of sesame glory. One drop, endless umami. Read more

I picked up a bottle of toasted sesame seed oil and it’s become a go‑to in my kitchen for adding quick flavor to a bunch of dishes. The aroma is rich and nutty right out of the bottle, and you really only need a small drizzle to boost stir‑fries, noodles, marinades, and dressings. I love using it at the end of cooking so the deep sesame taste really shines without burning, and it makes simple meals feel way more complex and tasty. A little goes a long way, it stores well, and it’s one of those ingredients that instantly makes dishes feel more authentic, especially in Asian‑inspired recipes. Read more

This toasted sesame oil has a nice flavor. There's not really much more to say about it, since flavor is really what counts when using toasted sesame oil. Read more

Not likely to buy this again. I thought I would give this a try, but it is over-roasted for my taste. As a result, I find it more bitter than I am used to. Most toasted sesame oils I use are lighter in color and nuttier and fragrant. I know these things can be very subjective. We will likely use up the bottle but not get any more of this brand. Update 6-30-2024 I have gone off and on with this product. We finished the bottle today and I have concluded that I will not purchase it again. If you only use a few drops, the fragrance added to the dish is acceptable, but if you use more, it is bitter and really not a good flavor. The very dark color is a tip-off to the over-roasting. We will go back to more golden-colored sesame oil. Update 6-22-25 After using this for awhile, we have changed our mind about it. As said above, this is dark roasted, which makes it very aromatic. There is also a bitterness, so you have to use it a bit sparingly. But, in addition to using it in stir fry, we have used it on noodles that have been cooked and refrigerated before stir frying. It adds a great deal of flavor. We have also used it in Asian salad dressings, again in limited amounts. If you want a mellower sesame oil, it could be combined with a milder oil, such as peanut, canola, or olive oil. Read more

A hearty oil with an earthy flavor. A bit more pricey that some thinner generic sesame oils out there, but the taste & quality is worth it. Read more

A good oil for stir fry. Not as aromatic as some that I have used, but completely worth it. Read more
