Expensive Look, with lots of extras
The media could not be loaded. This sonic electric toothbrush comes in an impressively-sized carboard box. I like that the cardboard box is sealed so that you know you are getting a pristine new item which is super important for a toothbrush. Inside the box, packed in foam with cutouts are a hard toothbrush case, four toothbrush heads, directions, and a USB charging cable. Inside the case are the toothbrush body and two additional toothbrush heads (bringing the total of toothbrush heads to six). I really like that each toothbrush head has its own cover. The items in the black case were a bit scattered about when I opened the case, but easily went back into place (there are plastic pieces inside the plastic case to hold the two toothbrush heads and the toothbrush body). The case will keep everything clean and sanitary for travel or if you have a smaller bathroom where the sink is in close proximity to the toilet. I like that two toothbrush heads fit inside the case so you will always have a new one at the ready. The operation of this toothbrush is simple: push on the head and press the button. Quick presses in succession cycle you through the options, while a press after a pause will turn the toothbrush off. The brushing options are "soft" "clean" "massage" and "off." There is also a "charge" option. The sound of the toothbrush varies between modes, so I am certain they are actually different options (see my video). I tried the toothbrush against my finger and it made a pleasant vibration, not too harsh but definitely of aid in cleaning your teeth. Electric toothbrushes seem to fall in two camps, sonic vibrating ones (like this one), and spinning (or partially spinning) ones. Which design gets your teeth cleaner is open to debate, but this toothbrush is a solid contender in the sonic category. I really like that this toothbrush comes with so many heads included. At the recommended change rate of about every three to four months, this toothbrush should get you through 18 months to 24 months without needing to buy any replacement toothbrush heads. I'll also observe that it shouldn't be too hard to find replacement heads for this model as it seems to have standard sized heads, but finding them in black may prove a bit more difficult as white appears to be the standard replacement color. The toothbrush comes already charged and can be recharged via use of the included usb cable. Simply pull out the white plug/cover at the bottom of the base and connect the USB cable. Plug the other end into a charging block (not included) and into your outlet. I would have preferred if it also came with a charging block, but no one seems to include those these days. I like that the plug/cover keeps the charging connector clean and dry, but because there is an opening, to allow you to pull it open, you could not submerge the base of the toothbrush in water. One cosmetic thing that I did not like was that even when the toothbrush head was fully seated on the toothbrush body, that there was a slight gap between the head and body, maybe only a millimeter, but it wasn't a perfect fit. This isn't a big deal to me, but might bother someone else. This toothbrush would be a hit with almost anyone who needs a new electric toothbrush and it comes well packed and packaged for gifting. It looks like a more expensive item than it is, which is always great for saving a few buck while also appearing to be a generous gift giver. I currently have a spin-type toothbrush, but this one could convert me. The gold accents are the newest thing and trendy, but understated enough to be classic at the same time. The color scheme could work for men and women, makes no this a nearly universally appropriate gift. Read more
