I especially enjoy three features on this rice cooker vs. the one I had. 1) I love the spherical (bowl-like) shape of the ceramic pot. It makes cleaning and scooping out contents much easier. 2) The steam comes out the top; no more steamy, watery mess on my old rice cooker's lid. 3) It has a larger capacity. This rice cooker has a slim, boxy profile. It fits easily on the counter. I especially like the ceramic pot interior, which is healthier than a metal cooker, and it's much easier to clean than metal pots, too. The turn-on instructions were slightly different than how the digital display actually operated, but the cooker did a fine job on white rice. I had added a little extra water on purpose so my rice came out nice and sticky (how we like it), perfectly cooked. Operation is simple. This rice cooker has a bunch of cooking options, including making congee and soup. The cooker comes with an electric cord, plastic steamer rack, plastic rice paddle, and a small plastic measuring cup. My family will enjoy using this cooker for a variety of uses, hopefully for a long time to come! Great gift idea. Read more

I’m giving this 6-cup smart rice cooker four stars, mainly due to a small quality-control issue rather than performance. The included plastic measuring cup arrived broken, even though it was secured inside the unit and wrapped. That suggests it may have been packed that way or overlooked during final inspection. While this is a minor issue and doesn’t affect how the cooker works, it did make me pause and wonder about quality checks. That said, the cooker itself has performed very well so far. What I really like is that it cooks 6 cups of uncooked rice evenly, fluffy, and thoroughly. It’s perfect for having guests over or cooking for a larger group. I’m a simple user—I mostly cook rice—and this cooker makes that effortless. Cleanup is also very easy thanks to the nonstick materials; a quick wipe with a soft sponge does the job (the electronic components should not be submerged). The cooker is attractive enough to leave on the countertop, which I appreciate in a well-designed kitchen appliance. It also offers an impressive range of features: quick cook, white rice, clay pot rice, slow-cook soup, reheating, congee (two ways), steamed rice cake, and keep-warm. Honestly, it’s more functionality than I currently need—it feels like the Cadillac of rice cookers. I may explore all those features down the road, but for now, I’m perfectly happy enjoying consistently fluffy white rice with minimal effort. Read more

To be clear, the Akureo rice cooker does make excellent rice. Cook time is typical but quality is definitely aided by the spherical inner pot. Rice is consistently fluffy, tasty and evenly cooked. While not dealbreakers in my view, there are a couple of things to be aware of. First, I'd imagine the user interface will be unreadable for practically everyone. It's printed so small that, even with readers, [and 20/20 vision] I was not able to see the selection controls clearly. Since it quickly defaults to "quick rice" anyway, I was still able to get the job done, but this is a curious design flaw in need of attention. Second, while this is a good quality rice cooker, it's price places it firmly in the company of more versatile appliances such as the "Instapot" variety. Read more

... to pursue having a rice cooker? This is the question I'm asking myself after spending some quality time with this Akureo smart cooker. Honestly, it's perfectly sized for countertop use; it looks sharp and is designed really well - great functionality that's easy to use. As someone who's always done it the hard way via stovetop, I couldn't believe how easy it was to use the cooker and lean it to the way it made amazing rice that tastes fabulous in no time at all ... I feel like this has upped my cooking game a million times over and cut cooking time down to a fraction of what it was before. I was initially pleased that this was a size I could store on a shelf or in a cupboard, but it's just going to sit out on the counter; it's too brilliant to put away. Read more

Seems to cook rice very well. Unit feels well made. The stainless pot is nice with a non-stick surface. Rice cooks evenly and quickly. I had really stopped using rice cookers, in favor of switching to an Instant Pot, but the simplicity of this cookers use for perfect rice (as long as you get the water amount correct) makes me think I'll keep both on the counter. At the current price, it's a hair cheaper than the larger instant pots, and the instant pot does so much more besides rice, but having Firewood Style (crunchy bottom) makes me think otherwise. The Akureo 3L Smart Rice Cooker has quickly become my go-to appliance for perfectly cooked rice without the fuss. The 6-cup uncooked capacity is perfect for small families or meal prepping, and the stainless steel spherical inner pot with non-stick ceramic glaze ensures rice cooks evenly and cleans up in seconds. I really appreciate the fuzzy logic technology—it intelligently adjusts cooking time and temperature based on the type of rice, producing consistently fluffy, well-cooked results whether I’m making white, brown, or mixed grains. The keep warm function is a lifesaver for busy schedules, keeping rice at the ideal temperature without overcooking or drying it out. The compact size and cream-white aesthetic make it a stylish addition to my kitchen counter without taking up too much space. Overall, it’s easy to use, easy to clean, and highly reliable. If you want a smart, no-fail rice cooker, this Akureo model is an excellent choice. Read more
