I do a LOT of cooking, including chopping vegetables and cutting up meat. I have a variety of knives and trying to keep them sharp using multiple knife sharpening products; they just were not doing the job. I thought I needed to replace my knives and during my search, I came across this sharpener which had good reviews and was very reasonably priced. I read the reviews. For sharpening, I use a pulling method using all three grooves. I was amazed at the results for all vegetables (fine slicing) and cutting up meat as well. the insert can be flipped around to go from inside to outside or visa-versa. be sure to tilt blade at angle on right side then on left side and be sure to work your way from the prep to the finish. You would think that doing straight up and down would be the way because its V-shaped but no tilt blade and do right tilt then left tilt. be sure to squeeze the blade insert in at the bottom when removing it and reinstalling it so not to break tabs. But I like the fact that in case of emergency no electricity you can still use it...hunters/preppers the glove and the insert coming out makes it very portable and easy to pack and use eliminating the handle all together. (Be careful I am not recommending using it unlike the manufacture recommends however I see the potential for other uses in case of emergencies and to reduce pack weight) The glove could be useful for preppers or noodlers it protects from cutting and is shiny could increase odds of catching a catfish? I purchased this sharpener for my Japanese kitchen knife. I was surprised that after one sharpening, there was noticeable sharpness to its blade. In comparison to the electric sharpener which I had, it definitely did the job faster and better. I only wish the 3 sharpening grooves were numerically marked and in sequence. Have used several knife sharpening tools and this one is the best so far. Since it has 3 positions; it preps the blade edge first, then sharpens, then finishes the knife. Slices paper and food just fine & EZ to use as don't have to put much pressure on the blades when pulling thru the guides. Two pack is an excellent value and is superior to the HFT sharpener, wet stone, and ceramic rod sharpeners already in shop. Read more

I purchased this for my son for Christmas & I have to admit that due to the price, I was skeptical. However, I was pleasantly surprised! The sharpener is sturdy, feels good in your hand, & is easy to use. It also works just as described & the cut resistant glove is definitely a plus! Now I think I may need one for our house! I took my chances on the Knife Sharpener, read the reviews and jumped in. So glad I did! It's easy to use, my knives are now nice and sharp! Im keeping in its box for storage. speaking of storage it does not take up a lot of room, another plus. Knife Sharpener: I am happy with this product. It does a good job sharpening knives quickly and keeps the hand holding it steady out of the way of the blade being sharpened. My only complaint is that the three sharpening elements are loosely held in by two flimsy tension plastic prongs. The first time it was bumped off the counter the sharpening elements popped out. A drop of rubber cement during production could correct this. Read more
