I'm a college student who has slept on this for the past 4 months. It's incredibly soft and "doughy" but firm enough to provide support. For reference, I'm a side sleeper but it would be great for back sleepers as well. I absolutely love it and it's great in the summer times too. Read more

This was by far the most nightmarish exchange I've ever gotten myself into. From beginning to end this purchase was a nightmare. Beginning: before the thing arrived I received a thinly veiled threat from the distributor. They clearly don't want honest reviews showing up on Amazon.com. The email ( who gave Amazon leeway to share my contact info I dunno but it hasn't ever been me) was an admonisment, mandating that I deal with them about any issues before daring to leave a negative review.+++++ The box was so heavy and cumbersome that I struggled to get it up the short flight of stairs to the main floor. Removing it from the box was a mistake. It was more unwieldy when allowed to expand, far more difficult than the real mattress I bought online. +++++ the noxious fumes permeated every square inch of air space and did not dissipate for the whole month I owned this mattress pad. If flooring you cannot smell presents health hazards how much more so the pad you sleep on? No exaggeration, I could have identified the chemicals from the fumes given a proper collection vial. +++++ the nightmares began with resurrection of hypnagogic myotonic jerks-- the innate reflex we have from times when we slept in trees, it's a sudden jerk at the very onset of sleep. The reason = the thing creeps! The mattress pad moves around you. As you change position, even with breathing , the pad creeps around you. The feeling while asleep is of something trying to encase you, suffocate you as you sleep but also of constantly falling. The absence of a firm, stable, foundation seethes insecurity / danger! As if this weren't enough, the "recovery" action of the shifting density pushes against your flesh, compressing, displacing any, shall we say bulges? - a smothering, feeling which sends off even more, different, alarms during sleep, and for me , inducing nightmares. It must at some point fail to " recover" its original shape because after a few days the place where I sat to stage my repose began to slope, a huge furrow forming and persisting at the point of entry into this strange environment.. ---- I eventually drug the thing off the bed in the middle of a restless night. I could only get it into the basement before collapsing in frustration and exhaustion.+++++ Not one of seven pillows worked with this thing! Not even My Pillow brand worked. I finally settled on a thin down pillow after the headaches this pad caused became refractory to usual methods of relief and if it hadn't been for my TENS unit I don't know what I would have done, short of going to Urgent Care to alleviate the pain. As it turns out the constant struggle to maintain alignment of your head and neck causes tension headaches.+++++ The nightmare continued thru several trials. After all, I was very ill, the very reason I dared to try this mattress pad in the first place. So I alternated feather bed, my bare Sleep Comfort Mattress and this gel foam pad for days, weeks, never settling on a best solution during all of that time. I'd hoped the smell would go away. It didn't . Perhaps the rough texture could be compensated for by a down or furry mattress cover. I tried every convolution . But it was not bias nor was it a subjective dislike of the product that created this nightmare. More discerning minds than mine placed the blame squarely where it belongs. This pad is an unadulterated health hazard. +++++ it literally took me two days in fits and starts to get the pad out to the alley for trash pickup. With no firm framework It folds and bends and seems to struggle against efforts to move it. And did I say it is heavy? +++++ The nightmare doesn't end because I'll always question the wisdom of making some kinds of online purchases now. This is a problem for the disabled who have no other viable options. I wonder about online security, confidentiality. I'll always remember the ordeal, always remember how much more this purchase cost me than the $140 spent to acquire it. Buyer Beware! Read more

This mattress was bought because I have hip and back issues. It arrived fast and after setting it up to air out it set up really fast and looked great. I'm not sure it helps my back but it is comfortable. It has made sheets a issue because my bed is now to deep for my sheets but we are experimenting with sheet belts and making it work. Read more

I bought this for my husband for work. He's a firefighter and was complaining about how uncomfortable his bunk was. This has been a great asset to his bedding for work. It travels great (he rolls it up when he's transferred to another station). He loves it! Read more
