Good clamp, bad suction

The clamp itself is solid and holds the nori even better than I expected. The problem is the suction cup. I have tried many times but never been able to get it to stay attached. It always comes off an hour or so later dropping the whole thing into my tank. I ended up resorting to contorting the arm around the glass and balancing it which is not the intended way to use this.
