This is a good silk pillowcase, soft, smooth, and enjoyable to sleep on. It washes well through machines, and retains integrity. I was always told silk can't wash through machines, so I was hesitant to buy silk pillowcases, but I've gotten past that hesitation. Silk pillowcases have become a staple in my passive hair and skin care regime. I don't really do much other than use a facial oil, snail mucus cream, and an antibiotic to act as prophylactic care against cystic acne, so I'm not a skin care guru, but I will recommend silk pillowcases. They don't leave microabrasions on your skin like other material does, and don't soak up and retain the oils, dirt, and other skin yuck that other materials do. These are also wonderful for hair. I have short cropped (buzzed) hair, so I don't have much, but what I do have is starting to present the effects of perimenopause, and gets easily damaged at the tips of the growth since it's so short. The silk is protective, again, against the microabrasions of other materials, that snag and pull at hair follicles, and again, doesn't sop up hair oil and trap it only to dump it into those microabrasions and make your skin disgusting. I do replace these frequently, using them for 2 nights (1 side a night, for 2 nights), then pop them in the wash on a sterilize cycle, which is a very strong cycle for any material, let alone silk, but I'm not keen on leaving anything on my pillowcases that may make my cystic acne flare. The pillowcases survive just fine through the wash and dry sanitize cycle, not losing integrity or smoothness. The stitching holds, too, so don't be afraid to use and abuse these. Read more

Great quality at an unbelievable price. The pillowcase is a sham style with an edging that feels luxurious, especially if you’re wanting an envelope closure. I have had silk pillowcases for years and like this style better than zippers. Even though it is 19 momme, it still feels nice and not so thin that it could rip. The only thing that I don’t love is the top sheet doesn’t have any type of edging but for the price and extra detail on the pillows, I can overlook. * Unfortunately, I had to change my review to 1 star as the entire top sheet has pilled and is unusable. I washed three times on gentle and low heat and owned for a very short time, but am shy of the return period by a couple of days. I do not recommend. Read more

The media could not be loaded. I ordered this for my son, and he loves it. The color is nice and vibrant. It fit a queen size pillow with no issues. It has an envelope closure which is nice. It washed well in a laundry bag, and I hung it to dry and fluffed it for a few seconds once it was dry. I like the fact that both sides are silk. Some silk pillowcases on the market only one side is silk. Having both sides silk is nice because you can flip it after a couple of days to get a fresh side. This 100% mulberry silk pillowcase described as 16 momme is quite soft and luxurious for it's weight. It is all silk - both sides and the envelope closure. I tend to think that the 16 momme is a typo - this pillowcase seems heavier. All seams are straight, it has an envelope closure and it measures 29.5" long and 20" high (as Queen), with the envelope closure being a full 5" deep, located at the extreme end of the case rather than some cases which run a bit short of the end. Very nice touch. The grade of this silk is not listed, but don't pass it up for that reason - I own quite a few silk pillowcases and while this one is not the very best in my collection, it ranks much higher than I had expected. The color is a very soft silvery-gray with a pretty light sheen to it. Soft and smooth, it just knocked a 19 momme down the list as one of my nicer ones. Highly recommended. Read more

This pillowcase arrived in a nice off-white slide out box. The grey I ordered is a beautiful dove grey. The shine of the fabric is excellent. It has a fold over closure. I had to do some research to find out what 16 momme meant. It's the density of the silk. 16 momme is the weight of a heavy silk scarf, but it's considered a bit light for a pillowcase. To me, it feels elegant and luxurious. YMMV. The fabric is wonderfully smooth and cool. Read more

To me, having a silk pillowcase is such a luxury. This one is described as 100% Mulberry silk which is very strong. It was interesting learning that it is made from silkworms that eat leaves from a Mulberry tree. Momme (mommy) is the unit of measurement grading the weight of the silk. 22 is considered best for a pillowcase. A higher number means a tighter weave and more silk is used. A lower count means there is less silk in the weave with more friction. This one is described as 19, but the box says 16. It is thinner than others that I have, but it is still very smooth and feels delightful to me. The construction is excellent with beautifully sewn inside seams. The envelope closure is pretty deep, and it shouldn't slide off the pillow. It's a lovely soft gray. If you have never experienced using a silk pillowcase and don't want to invest a lot of money to try one, I recommend this one which is a very nice quality silk pillowcase.
