Large RC, great for children

My review of the Motor Dayz metal Jeep Wrangler will be geared more towards parents who want a large RC jeep, for a small child to play with. The first thing I want to do is get my one real gripe about this huge RC jeep Wrangler out of the way, the one real issue I have with this RC Jeep is the charging system. It's pretty much standard operating procedure these days when you get an RC car in this price range that you get rechargeable, removable batteries that go with the RC vehicle, and many times you'll even get TWO batteries for your RC vehicle. To charge this RC Jeep you have to flip the Jeep over, pull off the plate on the bottom of the RC jeep and inside you'll find a USB A cable sticking out, attached to the inside of the Jeep. You'll have to plug that USB A charging cable into a compatible charging block. It's not a huge deal it's just hard for me to understand in this day and age, why not use removable, rechargeable batteries? I worry about the USB A charging cable that's attached to the Jeep, I worry it'll get ripped out, or really even just get a short somewhere in that attached charging cable, rendering the RC vehicle unusable. Now that I've got that out of the way here's what I do like about this RC Jeep.. It's BIG...!!.. and I mean huge..!!. It's got nice big rubber tires with great traction, you've got the handheld remote control that has the steering wheel and the trigger style throttle, tho this RC Jeep is not proportional steering nor proportional throttle and it's an "all or nothing" thing where you're either turning or you're not, you're either giving it all the gas or none, but honestly that setup does actually work with this monster of a RC Jeep. I took it outside after charging the battery , two AA batteries for the remote controller is included and you'll find them inside the box with the Jeep. The Jeep looks really nice and is sure to be a hit with the lucky little ones who receive this as a gift. I'm huge into RC anything and I always say it's really good to get young children into the hobby, what a great way to get them to take a break from all the screen time many kids are used to these days, even the little ones. To me it's a great hobby and lots of fun to be had for children of all ages, and tho this particular RC Jeep is definitely geared more towards the little ones, I will admit it did put a smile on my face in my side yard 😆 As for the price I do have to say it's a little on the steep side in my opinion, but that may be because of how far into the habit I am so it's just kinda difficult for me to see that price and not think of the more hobby grade RC vehicles I could just about get for the same price, but as a gift for a child, it really is a pretty good deal, whatever puts a smile on their face is worth every penny in my opinion. A Stunning Model for the Shelf, a Frustrating RC for the Floor.

The Good: Scale, Style, and Stamped Metal If you are a member of the motorhead community or a die-hard Jeep fan, the first thing you’ll notice is the presence of this Motor Dayz 4WD Jeep Wrangler. At a 1:10 scale, it’s impressively large and the metal body is incredibly accurate. It looks fantastic and captures the iconic Jeep aesthetic perfectly. It’s clear that a significant portion of the price tag went toward those licensing fees and the quality of the bodywork. The Not-So-Good: The Remote Control Experience While it looks the part, the performance on the RC side of things leaves a lot to be desired: Exposed Motors: The motors are housed in plastic housing between the wheels which leaves little confidence in longevity if you plan on taking this outside and through puddles, mud, and dirt. Cumbersome Controls: This truck features non-proportional steering, meaning it’s an all or nothing turn. This makes navigating tight spaces or precise paths feel clunky and cumbersome. Weak Performance: Despite being marketed as a 4WD off-road vehicle, I found the motors and torque to be surprisingly weak even at full charge with an all or nothing throttle. It struggled to climb over small dog toys that much cheaper, less heavy duty looking RC cars handled with ease. Missed Details: In a model this size, the lack of working headlights feels like a major missed opportunity. Cheap Build Below the Body: Once you look past the metal shell, everything underneath—the chassis, the suspension components, and the controller itself—has a very thin, cheap plastic feel that doesn't match the premium exterior of the body. The Charging Logistical Nightmare: The power situation is perhaps the biggest headache. The USB charging cable is built-in and incredibly short. Because the truck is so large, finding an outlet where the vehicle can sit close enough to be propped up is a chore; I eventually had to use a power strip just to reach the floor. Furthermore, the battery is not replaceable. When the run time is up, the fun stops completely. The Verdict This Jeep Wrangler RC Truck is best suited for gearheads and Jeep enthusiasts who want a beautiful, large-scale model to display on a shelf. If you’re looking for a high-performance RC vehicle to actually drive and clear obstacles, you’ll likely find better performance for a lower price elsewhere. Read more

Big, solid RC car that the kids really enjoy. Goes a while on a charge.

I got this for my niece and nephews to play with when they come over. This is actually a pretty nice RC car. I’m not sure if it’s the metal parts or what, but it feels like a higher quality RC than I expected. The weight of it also seems to help it get good traction. I haven’t run the battery completely down yet to see exactly how long it lasts, but it seems to run quite a while on a charge. It also has pretty good range. When I was a kid, our RC cars had cords attached to them, and the ones without cords would only go forward and turn when you put them in reverse. This one goes every which way and steers exactly like you’d expect it to. It also climbs hills pretty well. It seems geared nicely so it has both decent speed and enough torque to handle small hills and rough spots. The gearing feels just right for a car this size. It’s also pretty big—bigger than two hands put together—so it’s a good size for kids to play with. I think the size and the weight are part of what make it more fun. I have no idea what RC cars usually cost these days, but if it holds together like it seems it will, I think it’s a very fair value for the money. Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for an RC car for kids. Read more
