We have four dogs, three of whom LOVE puzzle toys, so I thought this would be a great option for them. Unfortunately, even my dog who doesn't have a single brain cell to spare outsmarted this toy almost instantly. I filled the acorn with some of their kibble and gave it to them one at a time. The first one stood on the toy and instantly popped the lid off, scattering the kibble. He ate it, and left the rest of the toy behind. Then I gave it to my smartest dog, who LOVES puzzle toys, and he instantly figured out the same flaw. Off came the top, the kibble was scattered and eaten, and then he started to try and chew on the toy itself. Now, my third dog, the one who is, how do I say, a real dum dum, also managed to figure out popping off the top, though she did it more by accident than anything else. Once she did though, she did it again immediately after. Eventually, I just let them play with the acorn itself until it was chewed up, which took about 10 minutes, before tossing it out. For us, this was not a good option. For someone whose dog is perhaps gentler, this might stand a chance and be a good treat toy. I would say make the judgement based on how your dog treats their treat toys. If they're super chewers, this is not for them. If they're gentle, this may be a great option. Read more
This product is good and my goldendoodle really likes it. She doesn't have to work hard to get the treats to come out. She nudges it with her nose and the fall put of the hole. The top of the acorn comes off for easy filling. If you are looking for something that is more challenging for your dog, this probably isn't it. If you are looking for something to entertain and have your pup work a little bit, this is great. Read more
I didn't think it worked particularly well for treat dispensing as they came out too fast. I think more useful to feed to slow down how fast they eat. Its rather large for !y dog at 15 lbs Read more
Great dog toy! Very sturdy and engaging for pets! I like that the kibble doesn’t all fall out at one time. Your dog really has to to work to roll the acorn around and get the kibble out. Keeps my dog entertained for long periods of time! Read more
I was happy to see this toy because I liked that you can remove the top for easy filling. The problem is, so can my dog. He would immediately chew off the cap and empty the acorn. After that, he chewed up the toy so I had to throw it away. My dog is not what I would call an aggressive chewer either. I think it would be better if the top screwed on or something rather than push on. Read more
So far my dogs have not played with it. I have tried several treats and still no interest. It is well made especially for dogs that like to chew but my little chihuahuas do not like it. I do not u destined why. Read more
The media could not be loaded. The lid can be popped off with a little chewing. Before that happens, it does a great job of dispensing kibble. There are fins on the inside that prevent it from dumping everything at once. It holds a good amount, and it's sorta cute. But our pup has figured out that she can just chew on the whole thing to pop off the lid. Granted, she's a pretty big girl, so this might be best for dogs that can't fit a softball-sized toy in their mouths. Read more
