The spray is a large bottle with an unusual lock (see photo). Once I figured that out (ha!) I've had no problems, no grease, no weighing down etc. I have a super strong nose and, for good or bad, to me the smell is like citronella candles, you know the ones they use to keep away mosquitos. Anyway, it's a kind of herby smell, which didn't surprise me when I looked at the ingredients (maybe it's the ginseng). Since I can't yet say whether this works I can at least review what's in it. Generally-speaking, I look for a Minoxidil mixed with natural ingredients known to support hair health. I looked through the list and the good thing is all were natural, leaning heavily on traditional asian medicine, which makes this different from many others: Rosemary - one study showed it worked as well as Minoxidil in hair regrowth Biotin - vitamin B7, the most widely used hair supplement, even if the data is surprisingly not great as to its efficacy Castor oil - made from castor beans, it's rich in Omega fatty acids & vitamin E, both of which have pretty strong data on helping hair growth Biota orientalis leaf extract - natural botanical from cypress family, used for centuries for hair growth & scalp health in asian medicine Polygonum multiflorum extract - an herb extract also used in asian medicine for hair health Panax ginseng root extract - made from ginseng, a staple in asian medicine, and used here as an antioxidant for skin health Propanediol - a plant-derived humectant (usually from corn) Zingiber officinale root extract - made from ginger root, which is antiinflammatory Ganoderma atrum extract - made from black reishi mushrooms and is antiinflammatory So even if there may not be a ton of research data on many of these, at least they've been used forever in traditional medicine. The only two ingredients I saw which had negative health comments are the Polygonum multiflorum extract, where you have to be careful of liver toxicity, and the Propanediol, which can cause itching in some sensitive people (it probably depends on the concentrations so you should ask your doctor). I'm giving 4 stars because I can't prove it does anything yet, and also because my nose don't love the smell, even if it's not very strong. Finally, it was made in China with a US distributor and came with a full 3 years of expiration. Read more

I’m really impressed with the results so far. The spray application makes it quick and mess-free, and it absorbs fast without leaving my hair greasy or heavy. I like that it’s formulated for both men and women and includes rosemary, which makes my scalp feel refreshed. With consistent use, my hair looks fuller and healthier, and I’m already seeing less shedding around my hairline. The aerosol spray also helps distribute the product evenly, which is a big plus compared to droppers. Overall, this is an effective, easy-to-use hair growth treatment that fits perfectly into a daily routine. Read more

I have been using this 5% Minoxidil spray consistently and like the spray format as it makes application simple and helps cover thinning areas evenly without mess. It absorbs quickly, has very little smell, and fits easily into a morning and evening routine. After regular use for few weeks, I noticed my hair looks a bit denser and healthier in texture. I did experience some mild dryness at the beginning, but it was manageable with a light moisturizer. Overall, this feels like a solid option for men or women dealing with thinning hair and looking for an easy-to-apply treatment. Read more

This 5% Minoxidil Spray For Hair Growth says to use it twice a day for 12 weeks before being able to see a noticeable difference in hair growth. It also claims to help with receding hairlines which I have on the corners of the top of my forehead and a spot in the middle. Besides that, the right side is thinning a lot from my hairline all the way to the back & from the top right side all the way down to the middle of my scalp. I'd like to point out that the description title says this is a topical aerosol, but it's a spray bottle. It also has a plastic piece under the spray nozzle that acts as a locking mechanism & slides up and down. It is pale yellow in color & has a slight smell of ginger and ginseng, which smells good but dissipates. Before deciding to use Minoxidil, I did research before deciding what type(s) of product(s) to use and women are cautioned to use 2% instead of 5% so that they don't get excessive hair growth on other parts of the body. Improper application by letting it drip on to another part of the body & transference by not washing your hands after application are 2 reasons it happens that can easily be avoided. Other reasons include sensitivity to Minoxidil or systemic absorption where the Minoxidil enters your bloodstream & affects hair follicles elsewhere. It's more likely to happen if you use a lot of it on a big area of your scalp or in high doses. Product Use I've used this twice a day for 6 weeks. Everywhere looks worse except for the right upper corner of my forehead, which looks a lot worse. I wanted to take a star off for that, but didn't because increased hair loss in the first 2-6 weeks is supposed to mean that it's working. I will take 1 star off for how hard it was to deal with my hair getting worse with more hair falling out and increased spots in size & number. I even very carefully used it on my eyebrows by spraying a clean eyebrow makeup brush and brushing it on. My eyebrows are the same. It says you have to use the product for at least 12 weeks to see a noticeable difference. I'm at the halfway mark, so I'm still not supposed to be able to tell if it's working yet. I'm trying to stay positive, but since my hair has gotten noticeably worse in some places even though it's supposed to be a sign it's working, I'm kind of doubtful it will. Another negative is that it makes my hair look greasy even though I'm applying it to my scalp and massaging it in. I've only been putting up with it because I really want my hair back. I took a star off for that because who wants to go out with greasy looking hair? Conclusion & Recommendation I know there are many different reasons for hair loss and different treatments depending on the reason. I wanted to try this product before having to go to the doctor and figuring out why so I could take care of it on my own. I'll continue to use this product for the next 6 weeks. Depending on what I see, then I'll decide if I should continue to use it or move on. If it actually ends up working, then I'll update my rating. At this point though, I don't see the value in it & I can't recommend this 5% Minoxidil Spray For Hair Growth. Read more

Just give a quick spray and rub my hand gently into my scalp. It's that easy to apply and doesn't really add a delay to my morning routine. There are no bad side effects for me- no itching or redness. The scent is fine. It's going on two weeks of using and I don't see any change in my scalp. The directions say it takes longer to see results. So, after the one-month bottle is gone, the big question will be if I want to commit the $$ to take this long term. Read more
