Shortish version: These are incredible pens featuring one of the BEST ink delivery systems I've ever experienced. I've included photos so you can SEE the difference between these and one of the most popular pens in American offices. They look amazing and come very "presentation ready" - never seen gift-worthy pens for under $10. The diamond barrel only extends a portion of the way down the shaft. The grip portion is jacketed in a silicone sleeve making them very comfortable to hold. But what TRULY makes these a "oh, they've got them in stock, I need five more boxes" kind of pen is the speed with which you can write while leaving clear and consistent lines in your wake. The ink dries INSTANTLY and will not smudge - I tried. Incredible value - buy two boxes - one for you and one for someone else who likes/has to write - these deserve to be in a lot more hands. Crazy long version in which I attempt to convince EVERYONE to buy these pens so that the company NEVER stops making them!!! When I saw these, I thought, "Oh, those look nice!" and ordered them. I had no idea that I'd just found my NEW favorite pen. Bear in mind - writing is my trade and I almost always do my drafts with pen and paper, it just feels better. The reason for stating that is to give context that when I say I've tried a lot of pens - I've tried A LOT of pens. I'd settled on two different ones - a standard favorite of most offices for its price and ease of use (blue ink so I'll know if I'm working from an original or a copy) and a pricey Japanese porous point art pen - because I like the ink output though they can be messy and cost about $20 a piece. The blue office pen is 1MM and the art pen is .5MM - PLEASE NOTE - to the unaided eye, there is NO DIFFERENCE between a .5MM and 1MM line. Though many swear by one or the other, they are only imagining they see a difference and actually prefer the feel of the tip against the page - our brains are weird like that. SO... down to this pen... as you'll see in the photos, which I was strange enough to bring out a macro lens to take, this pen (barrel calls it a Zennyth, I call it a Zennyth) leaves a clearer, more consistent, line that either of the other two. Yes, right at the point of highest pressure, there is slightly less ink applied than on the sides of the "valley" the tip creates (porous points don't make valleys so no ghosted middle) but you have to get CLOSE to even SLIGHTLY see it. Compared to the blue office pen, in which my already juvenile chicken scratch looks shaky and uneven, my writing has a much more defined look with the Zennyth, not reflecting the texture of the tabletop below or variations in finger pressure. But, that's only a third of it, as stated, and shown, the porous point has a beautiful even dispersion of ink. The feel of the point traveling across the page somehow feels sharp and smooth - you can feel the bite of the nib into the paper but there's no "fingernails on chalkboard" scratchiness, is just flows with the movement of your hand - a light glide across the page. The final reason is the price... maybe it is just an introductory thing... but paying $2 a pen for a pen that FEELS, LOOKS and MARKS better than a $20 one... well, sign me up. I love these. Pretty sure I love the people that designed them. I certainly owe them my thanks. These 0.5mm gel pens arrived beautifully packaged. They are so colorful. Opening the package is like a special presentation as they slide to the top. Each pen is retractable and has a handy clip to place in your pocket or to clip onto your papers. The pens are pretty, comfortable to hold, and write so smoothly. I was surprised to see that each pen writes in black. I must have missed that in the description, but I am pleased since I prefer to write in black ink. The pens have a silicone surface that makes the pens easy to hold without slipping in your hand. The ink does not smudge. I tried several times running my finger immediately over the fresh ink several times without a single smudge. What fun pens these are you could just tell by looking at them how just fun and colorful they are they are in a triangle shape so it's easier to hold on to the pens they're not round so they don't give you that pressure spot which is always nice I grew up with pressure spots on left-handed so now I have them permanently in it really is kind of ugly on my fingers but in any case back to the pens they write very very smooth the gel .5 mm rollerball it's just it's very fluid it also has to do with the paper that you're writing on but that's for another review I really enjoy holding these it's like the words just come right to my fingers when you have a good writing utensil and these happen to be very wonderful I love that they also have the metal clip so if you're trying to hold papers together or keep your pen attached to papers this metal clip is the best thing that anybody the plastic ones just just you have to hold more papers than you need it's just they're so cumbersome and frumpy. These pens are just absolutely amazing out of this world I love the packaging I love the attention the detail that they've taken to make these friends to make the packaging just everything and like I said the the gel flows right out of it I will buy these again.
