The packaging is practical. You get two pressurized aerosol cans, each clearly labeled with directions and a cap that protects the nozzle from drying out or leaking in a drawer or travel bag. The foam dispenses consistently when the can is held upside down as instructed, and one half capful is enough to cover the thinning areas on the scalp. The product is unscented, so there is no strong chemical or cologne smell lingering after application, which makes it much easier to use both morning and night without worrying about noticeable odor. This is a 2 pack of Minoxidil foam. This comes in a aerosol bottle with a push down dispersal nozzle like you would expect from a mousse bottle. The product also has the look and constancy of mousse. This requires the use of your hand to apply or an applicator of some type if you do not want to touch it. I use a scalp massager to apply and work this into my scalp. I have been using minoxidil for a bit but not very long with this product to make any kind of claims. I can say it is easy to use and easy to apply and seems effective. The value on this is probably about what you could expect to pay. This is for 2 bottles and seem about in the running of value in this area. Giving this a expected value in my opinion and at the time of this review. Overall, this is a foam form of minoxidil that is super easy to use in a aerosol bottle. According to the Carenice packaging, in clinical studies of mostly white men between the ages of 18 – 49 years of age, minoxidil has been shown to regrow hair when used consistently for at least four months. Included in the Carenice package are two aerosol bottles that together represent a two-month supply when used according to the directions; the specified topical application is twice daily to the affected area. Additionally, it’s specified that the Carenice minoxidil is not to be used by women, and that it’s effective for regrowing hair loss on the rear area of the crown, known as androgenetic alopecia, but no so much the front area; for example, it’s implied that minoxidil is unlikely to improve a receding hair line. Despite what the packaging says, it’s contradicted by the descriptive pictures on the Carenice Amazon point-of-purchase page, where the foam is shown being used to improve a receding hairline. I included a picture of the side of the box showing the areas of the scalp likely to be improved by the minoxidil, or so says the packaging. Used topically, common side effects of minoxidil are mostly benign and may include scalp irritation, excessive hair growth in unwanted areas (careful of your eyeballs), dizziness, and initial hair shedding, which is mentioned on the outside of the packaging. In other words, there may very likely be hair shedding at the onset of minoxidil treatment. Additionally, there are rare, but serious side effects which include a possible allergic reaction, weight gain and heart problems. Overall, statistically, it’s relatively safe to use. The Carenice minoxidil is dispensed as a foam, then rubbed into the affected area of the scalp. Since the clinical study has shown that it takes at least four months before the benefits of minoxidil are realized or possibly even discerned, it’s important to decide at the outset of treatment if that’s a commitment in time and cost the user is willing to make. Moreover, the results of minoxidil aren’t permanent, so plan on making a forever commitment if the continued regeneration of hair is a priority. Essentially, there’s an extended financial commitment along with that of the physical treatment, both of which that will last for as long the user wants to continue regrowing hair; think of your bald spot as a garden that needs tending. Another important consideration is that although Carenice is offering a two-month supply at about half the cost of most others, that are probably formulated in the PRC anyway, how long will access to that price last? The point being, in the long run, how much is the treatment actually going to cost. It would be practical to assume that at some point down the road that the cost could increase by 100% or more. Personally, I’m still deciding. I’m leaning toward a 6-moth commitment at what appears to be a total cost to me of $50, since the sample I’m reviewing here was acquired through the Vine program at no cost. If after that period of time the results, if there are any, are appealing to both me and my wife, whom, fortunately, loves me no matter how much hair, or not, I have on my head, I’ll decide to continue or not. For anyone curious I would think that a $50 - $75 (about $12.50/month) financial commitment along with the willingness to apply it consistently, may at least serve to satisfy one’s curiosity and determine if it’s all worth it. You don’t know if you don’t try. Since there isn’t any manner in which I can judge the efficacy of the product for at least four months, I’ll rate it 5-Stars for its apparent cost savings compared to other similar products.
