First off .. the one I got was made in the country that most production happens in current year. That aside, works really well. Haven't had it long so I don't know about longevity yet. Easy to read, easy to use, no batteries needed, didn't come with a magnet. Plastic parts don't feel "cheap" but that could change as it ages. Thing is since it is a mechanical mechanism, there is a whole lot of options for repair if the plastic bits do break down like creating a dial out of thin wood / copper, pulling the mechanism and putting it in a wood block or ???? For the cost can't complain yet. Read more

Well, it works, but doesn't win any prizes. Mom wanted one just like her previous one. This looks the same but is more cheaply made. There is no back on it so it ticks loudly and the ringer is really tinny. You have to turn it all the way to 55 and back again to get it to ring when done. It does work, so the basic tool is there.
