High quality glides

D WalkerApril 24, 2016✓ Verified purchase

I ordered these glides because we had four chairs that for some reason had metal feet. The metal feet were corroded, so they were smearing black marks all over our tile floor. I tried putting those felt sticky pads on them, but they wouldn't stay and then we had STICKY black stuff on the floor, which was delightful. I got these glides yesterday and put them on the chairs in the evening. The nails are smaller than the previous ones, so I followed the handy instructions I received from the seller, Dugan Hardware Systems, and placed a toothpick in each hole, which I then broke off even with the top of the hole. It was very easy to tap the new glides onto my chairs, and they work great! I'm very pleased with both the glides and the customer service from Dugan Hardware Systems. The note they sent after purchase was filled with very helpful information, including how to avoid having a nail accidentally protrude and scratch hardwood, so be sure to read that. The glides feel very heavy duty, and the felt pads are attached securely (I tested all of them). Order with confidence! Read more

Perfect pads - easy to install and no scratches on the floor.

H. SilvermanSeptember 7, 2020✓ Verified purchase

We ordered these pads because we just had our kitchen floor sanded and polyurethane applied. They arrived on time and were simple to use I had pre-existing holes in my chair legs from a previous nailed in pads and these hammered in easily and securely. These are perfect for our chair legs which are 1" in diameter. We've had them for 3 weeks, so far the chairs slide in and out really smoothly and quietly, with no scratching of the floor. Great product. Read more

Sturdy snd Easy

These are as well-made as everyone says they are, and the package arrived in just a few days. I used them on 8 counter-height dining chairs, 1 counter-height dining table, 1 wicker bedroom chair, and 1 piano bench. I used another reviewer's recommendation to use a 1/16th drill bit. It is a tad large for this application, but if you go in just a quarter inch with it, then you can get a tighter fit. The piano bench was the only piece that had some sliders already on it--from maybe 50 or 60 years ago--and the holes were somewhat large. I used some wood glue to backfill the holes and just spread some around the rest of the slider coverage area. That seems to have worked. The wicker chair is about 10 years old, and I was afraid it might be either too soft to hold or too brittle, but that came out just fine, too. One thing I did have to amend was the coloring on the bottom of the chairs and table. I noticed that the feet are beveled and that part is not stained. This really shows up when they are lifted off the ground, so I used a furniture marker to color that part. Also I should mention that I did use 2 cardboard templates I made for the dining chairs, one for the back legs and one for the front. I put a hole in the paper and used a marker to mark my target. I felt I had to be accurate because the feet are barely 1 inch across, so I did not want anything hanging out. And this turned out to be a good time to tighten anything that needed it, so have those tools handy. I am making it sound like a bigger project than it was. Actually just did it in the living room with a favorite DVD on. Went quickly. Read more

DavidMarch 23, 2016✓ Verified purchase

When we got our new couch and love seat, we decided it was time to throw out the old floor protection we had used and get something better. These sliders worked perfectly! They were easy to nail into the legs, and definitely protect the floor against damage. The only "issue" is that the sliders slide rather easily. While this is great for cleaning, we'll end up shifting the furniture back into place pretty frequently... I much prefer that over scratching the floors, though!!! Read more

Thick and strong, yet soft and easy!

Su in GAJuly 29, 2017✓ Verified purchase

Great little nail-on soft sliding feet that are thick and seem like they're going to last. We replaced some very worn-out felt slides on a set of bar stools, and these tapped right in. We put them just slightly to the side of the old holes, but without really changing their position on the feet of the stool. I did tap a regular thin nail about 1/4" into each foot to create a sort of pilot hole, but not because it would have been difficult to get the sliders started without a pilot hole. I just wanted to be sure the position was correct (since you can't really see the point of the nail and whether it's lined up where you want it when you're hammering the slider itself. The heavy stools slide easily on our hardwood floors now, without scratching them or making any noise. Also, the dark brown color makes the sliders sort of disappear visually. The old sliders were off-white (a very dirty off-white), and always stuck out like a sore thumb against the brown stools and dark wood floor. I'm very pleased with this purchase. Read more

Great felt bottoms if you have wood legs on your furniture.

A J DennisJanuary 26, 2025✓ Verified purchase

I was a little bummed that I was not able to use these on much of my furniture. You'll need your legs of your furniture to be solid wood so you can drive the spike into the wood. I recommend drilling a very fine hole The smallest drill bit you can. That way when you tap these into the leg of your furniture it will not crack the wood. Wish there was something you could put on the legs of metal chairs to protect the floor from the bottoms of the chair legs. They do scratch when you slide them across the wood floor. Read more

Wonderful product! Highly recommend!

Donna B.May 7, 2016✓ Verified purchase

We bought these nail-on slider chair glides as a replacement for the old-fashioned "stick-on" glides we had been using for years. The old "stick-on" ones USED to work, but for some reason, they don't anymore. We were tired of having to clean our floors to remove the glue residue left behind when they'd constantly fall off our chair legs, not to mention having our chairs STICK to the floor. :( We weren't sure if these new glides would work, but so far, so good. We've only had them on for a week, but we love them. They were very easy to install and now, all our chairs glide easily. They stay in place and they don't appear to collect all the floor debris (fuzz, pet hair, etc) like the old chair pads did. We were also very impressed when we received an email from their manufacturer, Cabinet Hardware Etc. They thanked us for our purchase and even gave us installation tips. We plan to purchase another set just to keep on hand in the near future! Read more
