I've had this for a while now. I wanted to really test it before I reviewed it. I love it! I had an air fryer previously (more than one actually) and I've just always ended up not using it and giving it away. This one I've use about four times a week since I've had it. I am thoroughly pleased. The goods: 1. It's super easy to use and can tell what foods you put in there - to a certain extent. If you put a homemade casserole in there it's not going to recognize it. But it has successfully recognized steak, pork chops, fish sticks and sausages so far. There is a camera in there and if it gets dirty it'll tell you to clean it. That has only happened once to me and I cleaned it with a warm, soft rag. 2. It has a window to see what's happening in there. I love this feature. You turn on the lamp and you can actually see if you need to "shake" the basket. 3. It's very intuitive to use. There are presets for different types of food, but you can run it manually as well. The presets works are pretty spot on but the DIY settings are good for things that don't have a predetermined time or temp. 4. It heats evenly every time. The "cons" as I'm going to call them: 1. It's very big. Not a con really, but it's not a compact thing that you'll just tuck away somewhere. It required me to really carve out a home for it. But that bigness gives you plenty of cooking space, so.... 2. It's loud. It's not annoyingly loud though. It's what one would expect for a machine this size, but this is not a whisper type of cooker. That's it! I really can't say anything bad about this cooker. Absolutely have enjoyed it. Read more

For years, I've only used air fryer settings on multi-purpose toaster ovens, so I've never owned a proper basket-style air fryer. As such, I can't compare it to similar products, but I can say that for my purposes, this seems to be a great option if you're looking to get into having an air fryer. To start, it is chunky, and takes up a good amount of counter space, but that space is not wasted, because you can fit quite a lot in here. I haven't tried the whole chicken like they've advertised, but I've been able to get some sizeable dishes in here, both things that take up a lot of ground space, and also some vertical items. In fact, you can fit nearly a half-bag of Costco frozen fries in here without any issues. The other immediate thing I noticed upon using this is that it's LOUD. You can definitely hear it across into our living room when it's cooking. I was considering taking off a star for that, but upon doing some more research, it seems like this is just an aspect of most air fryers of this type. In terms of cooking, it has the ability to sense certain types of food. I think them using "AI" in the product description is mostly just for buzzword bandwagon-jumping, but it can successfully identify...some items. It seems to do better with meats and potatoes than with any sort of pre-packaged items. I also find that the camera it uses constantly tells me to clean it. Honestly, though, I just prefer using the DIY settings to set a time and temperature. One thing to note on this is that it does not do a pre-heat before starting the timer, if that matters to you. Cleaning the basket is super easy. I haven't cooked anything sticky within the air fryer yet, but everything I have cooked in so far has been able to be fully cleaned up with just some warm water an a paper towel. On the whole, I'm very pleased with this. It's more convenient that using the air fryer setting in my other devices, and I honestly think it provides more consistent results, so I'll likely make it one of my main tools. Read more

Never having used an air fryer before, I wasn't sure what to expect with this CULINIX 8L Large Air Fryer. This fryer has some very advanced features! It's a large air fryer and has a large capacity. It has a an AI engine that is used to identify the item(s) placed in the basket to be air fried, the amount of food, and it predetermines the temperature(s) to use and the amount of time to cook. I consider that advanced! It also has a "DIY" function where the user determines time and temperature they want to set for their food item and not the automatic AI identification function. Be aware this model does not have 2 separate containers that can air fry different foods at different temperatures at the same time. The material inside has a nonstick coating, and the inside of the basket and the tray are also coated in a nonstick material. I tried out the automatic roasting function using a can of cooked beans--I happen to like roasted chic peas and other legumes to snack on. I used a can of cannellini beans I had in my pantry. I rinsed the beans in water and patted dry with a paper towel. I used a piece of parchment paper to line the fryer basket (optional) and put the drawer in the air fryer. The AI engine identified the food item as beans and set up the program to cook the beans first at 360 degrees, then lowering the temp to 320 degrees, with a total cook time of 23 min. One press to start the cooking cycle and that's all it took. The air fryer beeped at me partway through cooking to 'shake the fryer basket' to move the beans around, which I did. Then the rest of the cooking time was completed, and the fryer went into a "keep warm" mode. The beans were crunchy and roasted, just as I'd hoped they'd be. Impressive and delicious with just a shake of salt for seasoning. The controls are kind of confusing and the included user guide is way too brief, and what instructions exist, are not very clear (IMO). There are functions the air fryer can do (like dehydrate, as one example) but there are no directions in the user guide how to accomplish that. I deducted 1 star because I shouldn't have to figure this air fryer out on my own, and I am someone who does read a user manual to learn how to use a new item or device. I looked up the company name online to see if they had a website and if there was more information I could obtain. They appear to have no presence on the Internet, aside from their product page on Amazon, which lists 2 or 3 air fryer products. If this company exists, I can't find them. I couldn't find any videos showing or instructing how to use the air fryer either. That's disappointing. The user guide needs to be updated and expanded to show every function this fryer can do, show what every button does, and show how to use each of the individual abilities of this air fryer. More pictures are needed as well, to illustrate each step. The price seems to be mostly in-line with what air fryers of this size (8L) and capability are selling for, before any sales or coupons.
