It works well for a bedroom that you can close the door to, but I doubt it would work for anything larger than that. The first time I used it, I put it in my bedroom that started out at a temperature of 81 degrees and set the temperature for the air conditioner for 72 degrees. The problem is that the air conditioner never reached the set temperature, so I seriously doubt this would work for a living room, or anything like that. I live in Chicago and it gets very hot and muggy during the summertime and a fan won't cut it, even at night. It does dehumidify the air and you can dump the water manually or drain it with the little tube that comes with it. All in all, it's a nice little air conditioner for a bedroom. I'm not sure if it's really 8000 btu, because I've had 8000 btu window air conditioners before, and both of them got colder than this one does. I've been running this nonstop for the last couple months. It's the best. Keeps my room a solid 67 while I work and a chilly 62 when I do a workout. The vents are easy to clean out and the set up is even easier. Read more

So far this is working fine. Our room is in the back, and we were burning up. We are comfortable and able to sleep now. The design looks sleek, and durable. It’s not too big for the space. It was easy to install it. We did have to cut one of the plastic sliding parts because it was too long for our window, but that’s not a big deal. Once we did that, we connected the hose to the window, and turned it on. We got it at a great price. Read more

The media could not be loaded. This portable air conditioner is extremely noisy. I measured the sound level with my phone, and it hits 65dB on high speed and 60dB even on low — which is inconsistent with the product description. I originally chose it because it had the lowest price, but now the price has gone up while other models have become cheaper. It no longer offers any value for the money. Not recommended. Additionally, as you can see in the video, the remote control sometimes becomes unresponsive, which adds to the overall frustration. Read more

Works well in my master bedroom (15×30) to offset being upstairs. Swing temp is 4 degrees, so if you set to 74 it will turn off at 72 but not turn on until 76. Window adapter is poorly designed, I used painters tape to fill the void. Sometimes when it turns back on the compressor will turn back off, guessing where the temperature sensor is,the circulation picks up cool air and shuts it down for a few minutes, not an economical point. Works good for one room but I needed to split the airflow so barely adequate for that part. A 10000 BTU and a 12000 BTU kept the main living areas comfortable. I consider it low noise. Draining the condensation basin is challenging, unit needed to be raised for better access. Only drained it once during the season. Read more
