I'm old school so I wanted a mp3 that I could load my own music library on it. With this unit you have this and you have new technology with apps. The sound quality is amazing!! The only problem I had is when you load the music I couldn't get the unit to keep playing songs and create a playlist. But..... you have to use the program that is included. Once you click on that you have all your songs. You can create all the playlist you want. You can change the order of songs. The unit is great!! Quality. Don't second guess this like I did!! This unit looks and feels like a high quality music player not the cheap plastic ones that last a year or two. It sounds much better than my mp3, and its pretty easy to use. When you stop playing music the unit turns off automaticly in 5 minutes. I have just been playing lossy music files and they sound very good. When I get some lossless music I will update how they sound.. I have not had it long enough to comment on battery life. For the price I am very happy with the M8 swofy. The screen is fine for indoor viewing but outside in the sun it is very hard to see. Battery life on first charge was around 20 hrs play time. I am revising my reivew since this SWOFY has stoped working. It lasted me 2 1/2 months and customer service would not refund or replace it. They said it had to be fixed! When I asked how they stopped communicating with me. As you can see from the review above I liked it right up to the point it stoped working.but MSDZWK decided not to stand by their product. This is the Mp3 player I have been wanting! This unit meets my need for an onstage Mp3 backing track player. I like that I can find requested songs by using the search feature and locate a song without scrolling through the whole alphabet! The 7 playlists are great for setting up song sets for live playing as well as additional playlist sets! I have mid-priced ($80-$125) higher end Mp3 players that I currently use onstage for playback of my backing tracks, and even though this player is bargain priced (under $40), it has the features I need for my stage work. Admittedly this player is not all that I would like in an onstage portable Mp3 player for live work (e.g. I prefer mechanical buttons over touchscreen), but the 2 new features this Mechen D53 provides are welcomed additions that my higher end players currently lack for onstage use. This unit provides needed, thoughtful and useful additions for low budget onstage Mp3 player. The overall sound, although not ideal, does work for my onstage purposes. Until the SEARCH FEATURE along with the ADDTITIONAL 7 PLAYLISTS are placed in future mid-higher end Mp3 players, I find the Mechen D53 to be a welcomed, needed, and useful addition for the low budget musician to use onstage as well as all users in general. I have the 256G version with the CNC case (very solid nice build, CNC is high end manufacturing for HiFi gear). This device could easily sell for 300 dollars or more to people who appreciate what it is about. It is not about blue tooth, pedometers, android, streaming, FM built in for radio listening, or a toy for the kids. You need to know what it is about to appreciate it. This is built for a very good use of features and price point to give you fantastic fidelity and sound quality for an amazing price, a very hard challenge. They accomplished the goal, I love it. One reviewer gave it to their son and he loved it because he knew the world of HiFi. They mentioned comparison to an FiiO M11, I too would say it is in the ball park but not as good, HOWEVER the M11 cost over $600 dollars! This device has DSD, DSP and DAC circuts and chips, it also has an 8core processor. This device with HIFI head phones or IEM's will knock your socks off. I am an engineer AND musician and can tell you this is a screaming deal for great HiFi gear. I can't wait to see what the next version will look like. If those abbreviations don't mean much to you, or you want bluetooth with ear buds this is not for you. You will need to build your music in files like FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec file) or some HiFI format to get CD level quality (lossless) or better. You will need good head phones or IEMs (in ear monitors). You will need to use your computer to load the music, there is no WiFI or bluetooth. The user interface is great, the equalizer is very solid and it has very fast response time. If you like quality lossless sound, can't afford a device that costs hundreds of dollars, but still expect / want quality and great performance then this is for you, I love it!!! Read more
