My garage had a bunch of glass bulbs and the ballasts made all kinds of noise with a bit of a flicker. Now i have no hum, and the overall space is probably 3-4 times brighter. Since I can turn them a bit, I have them shining on pegboards and storage areas nicely so i can read the labels much easier than before. It may sound silly, but the box these get shipped in is like a tank. You could stand on it and jump up and down and it probably won't break. The bulbs are nowhere near as fragile as a glass bulb but it is really a great box. It's also kind of sleek. I was surprised to see how narrow it was for 10 bulbs. Wiring was somewhat straight forward but will depend on your existing enclosure. I had a mixture of complexities in my setup. The rule of thumb for me was to have the hot wire (black) feed any existing contact on one end and the neutral wire (white) feed the contacts on the other. The ballast should be cut out completely with no wire hookups at all. You can leave it in the fixture if you want, but nothing should be wired on it. You can then use the wires you cut out to rewire it. Wago connectors (search for them) make rewiring them much easier. I wish they had smaller sets you could by. I needed 16 so I had to buy 20. I have 4 leftovers. That's a bit excessive, It would be better if I had 2 leftovers for the future but not a big deal since the storage box is slender. There is printed instructions for the bulbs on the box, and on each bulb (the backside). They are minimal though -- it's not a step by step. Overall, ballast bypasses make the wiring simpler -- not more complex. If you're unsure -- hire an electrician. Read more

I bought these lights for the outside of my store. I had two fluorescent high output bulbs per fixture and have 12 fixtures end to end across the front of the building. I removed the ballast and connected only one LED bulb per fixture. Before I had 24 bulbs to light it up but now I only need 12 bulbs and it's much brighter than before. Easy install and the bulbs rotate to direct the light where you need it. Some say there are issues with the bulb rotation, however you have to use your brain and align each end of it individually and it will work flawless. The ends will not rotate indefinitely, It will only rotate so far and then stop. rotate each end the same direction until they stop and install it into the fixture then rotate your light to aim where necessary. If the light won't rotate to the location you need, remove the bulb and rotate it 180° in the fixture and then re-aim your light. It's really not that hard at all. Time will tell how long they last and how good they are in cold temperatures. So far they've work flawless in the past year I've had them. My customers comment on how bright the building is at night now when they stop to pump fuel. UPDATE: My store is in Minnesota, We just had a week of below zero temperatures, the coldest night was 24 below zero. (Yes -24°F )The lights are outside, they came on when the timer tripped and they lasted all night long. No problems, So far these lights are amazing! UPDATE: ITS FEB 2025 AND THEY ARE STILL GOING ALL NIGHT EVERY NIGHT. AMAZING! Read more

Bulbs are fantastic, they absolutely blow away the old florescent bulbs they replace. Installation is simple, just remove the ballast and you will be amazed at the amount of light these bulbs provide! Seler support is also top notch! Read more

I purchased 30 of these lights from Amazon and another 20 from a buddy (all brand new and still in the box). In the beginning they were great, put out a little better light than the older style ballast light and performed well. About two years later I noticed that these lights were starting to fail as quick as I could change them. I have over 30 that have went out. As shown in the pictures it’s always half of the LED strip that fails. Like I mentioned they lasted two years I travel for work so only in the shop a few times a month so not a lot of run time. I reached out to the manufacturer and they did get back to me and requested pictures of the failed lights and pictures of the electric board inside so their engineering dept could take a look. After that I never heard anything back. I have 16’ ceilings in my shop so changing everything out takes a little time. I ended up changing out every light and went with a different manufacturer. New lights are nowhere near as flimsy as these were and light up the shop a little better. I will never buy these again. The customer service is sub par just like the lights they build. Read more

Lights are brighter than the older fluorescent tube when they were new. Ended up using 1 tube per fixture. Read more

The lights are super bright, they are perfect in the garage. Installation required some easy ballast removal and wire rerouting within the fixture (I am a 60+ year old woman and did it myself). One bulb per fixture provides sufficient light for my application. Very happy with this purchase. Read more

I used an inductive clamp meter to measure the current for a single bulb. It was exactly 0.6 mA on a 120v AC power supply. That works out to 72 watts. If you have a large area with a lot of bulbs, this certainly makes a difference in calculating wire size, switch amperage ratings, etc. Also, the brightness was actually a little underwhelming. The 5k bulbs are white, almost to the point of being uncomfortable to look at, but I suspect the actual lumen output is less than rated. Overall, they are nice bulbs. For my taste though, I think I'm going to try to find something with a little more light output. Read more
