Excellent Light quality
I'm using this as a backdrop light in a video studio. I have a few different pull down backdrops, including a green screen, that I cycle through and wanted something long enough to cover the entire width of the backdrop but thin enough not to get in the way. I had 2 concerns/questions using this light for this purpose (other than it's not designed for the task): is it actually flicker free and will the defusion quality be high enough for truly even lighting? The answer to both questions is yes. It is absolutely flicker free and the lighting is beautifully even. I'm very happy with the light quality. I wasn't able to test the cri accuracy or spectrum for color spikes (often LEDs can had a strange color spectrum curve), so I can't definitively give a report in those areas, however, to my eye I can't see any color inconsistencies when compared to my highly accurate studio lights. My installation wasn't standard so I hired an electrician to be sure I was being safe in regard to mounting and the electrical connection, however, I did test the standard installation experience. Standard installation evaluation: I'm not sure if it is designed for flush mount, but hanging installation looks beautiful and is quick and easy. I love the support cable length adjustment method. It has a spring lock mechanism that makes it extremely easy to adjust the cable length without any tools or tightening involved. A few notes on the standard installation: It comes with enough small mounting plates that you could use the kit as two separate lights, but it only comes with one larger mounting plate (standard ceiling box mount) and one power cable, so you should plan on using it as one complete light. Also, I needed to source longer screws to attach the power cable--I assume you are meant to reuse the ones from the socket dust cover, however, they are slightly too short for the power cable's thicker flange. Remote/App control: The included remote is white and has plenty of functionality for most uses. It has dedicated buttons for cycling through color temperature presets, brightness presets, and separate dedicated buttons for brightness/color fine adjustments, making it pleasantly fully feature. Pairing the remote is simple: hit the pairing button within 10 seconds of turning on the light. If you ever need to reset the light and re-pair the remote, that's simple too: turn the light off and on 11 times back to back. No need to ever touch the light once it's installed. The App is fairly simple but it would come in handy for configuring an entire office of these lights. You can configure different rooms sets, which makes adjusting individual rooms simple. All settings are persistent between power cycles, so once you have it setup you can use the wall switch without needing to start over. Conclusion: the light quality is excellent, I would consider it stylish looking, and the smart features only add convenience and value without sacrificing it's basic functionality. My experience never felt fiddley or like I was tinkering with a gadget. I would recommend it. Read more
