Design flaw
The brass washer under the spring does not slide freely, it can get stuck at the bottom of the slide, which doesn’t allow this to close. This should’ve been found in testing. Other than that, it’s great, it’s screwed right in and has nice rubber seals, etc. just left a lot of water on the ground when it didn’t slide up and close. Read more

Design Flaw
A flaw in the design could potentially cause the device to not seal and cause an endless flood. On the main shaft, the regular diameter ceases and gives way to a smaller diameter just before the threaded standoff nut. This small section that is a smaller diameter allows the washer to hang up on the regular diameter portion of the main shaft. If the threaded standoff nut could thread further up the shaft to cover up the narrow spot, the washer would not be able to get hung up on a narrower section. When the washer gets hung up on this skinny to thick transition on the main shaft, the unit cannot seal closed and will cause an endless leak and flooding. Read more
