I bought this rug to replace a thicker, higher-pile one so it’d be easier to keep clean with pets and it definitely is. The size and neutral design are perfect, and the lower ply makes vacuuming a breeze. The only downside is the smell. It’s been about a month, and when I walk in the house, I still notice that “new rug” scent. I’ve tried cleaning and airing it out, but I think it just needs more time. The rug itself looks OK - granted that the patterns' texture are not really there, just visually. But the issue is the ridiculously strong chemical order from this new rug - I thought it was natural and aired it out 24 hrs, but the smell is still there. It's causing intense migraines and headaches for me and my gf, and my dog is also not a fan. I've ordered many rugs at this price point from many different brands, and never had this issue...customer service told me the factory smell will stay for 5-10 days.....it's been 5 days and the smell is still pungent as ever even though it's been outside. I am extremely happy with this rug and at this price point. I spent many many hours searching for a soft rug that was thick and substantial enough to NOT get sucked up in the vacuum. This is it. It wasn’t heavy for me to put down alone. It’s definitely not slipping anywhere. I will put the corner stickies on and it will be perfectly flat. My living room is square (where I want the rug to go) and so I chose a 6 x 9. There from feet of the sofa are on the rug and is about a foot from the wall. With an 8x10 the tv console would have fit well on top as well. Next time. It is supposed to be stain resistant— if it is not, I will update.
