Our master bedroom is the furthest room from our central A/C. Due to the awkward layout of our cookie-cutter home, the lone vent that serves our bedroom snakes through 4 90s and transitions from sheet metal to flex, to sheet metal, and back to flex again as it goes through 2 separate floor cavities and up through a 2x6 interior wall. Long story short, it has never had adequate airflow to cool our room, especially during the 100°F+ dog days of summer. We already have a ceiling fan which does help, but it mostly just blows the warm air around the room. In the past, I've just run our central fan A LOT to continuously move air through the bedroom. Problem is, that means the central fan is always running circulating air through the whole house for the benefit of just 1 room. And running it all the time increases our power bill up by around $50/mo. Then I saw these vent boosters and thought "what if I used a 6 watt booster fan 24 hours per day instead of running our central fan almost all the time to see if it will achieve the same results?" Well I'm here to tell you, THE RESULTS ARE EVEN BETTER! I have the vent fan set to run full blast, 24 hours per day. And our room has stayed 8-10 degrees cooler than before, even through a record number of consecutive 100°F+ days this season. Since it keeps running when the A/C is not, it keeps pulling cool air through the cool evaporator coil even though the main fan is off. So the air it pulls through almost never even hits 70°F on the vent's thermostat. What's even better? Despite all those additional days of extreme heat this year, my power bill was about $50/mo less than previous years for the same months! So it paid for itself in a single month! So is it noisy? Yeah, a little, especially on the highest settings. But I can comfortably watch TV at a normal volume right next to it at a setting of 7 or lower. And since I sleep 5 feet from it, the Bluetooth app makes it really easy to adjust when we're in the room and need it a little quieter. We actually like the noise on high while we're sleeping, the white noise helps us sleep better. I leave it at a 10 at all times if I'm not trying to watch a show next to it. Conclusion: if it seems like this vent fan may be a good idea for a room that won't get cool or warm enough depending on the season due to an inefficient central air system, it is. Buy it today. You won't regret it. Sidenote, I'm in IT and I've used other AC Infinity products to cool expensive and important data equipment for a couple years now. They're all excellent. Better quality, quieter, and more useful features than units that cost 3X as much. This company knows what they're doing, and I can't sing their praises enough. Read more

Really great item. Easy of the remote or app for phone makes set up easy. Works really well for summer and winter as long as set temperatures correct. Very easy to use as long as near plug in so cord not everywhere. Seems very durable. Truly helps airflow better so help warm or cool home. Read more

My home office is at the far end of the AC venting system so my airflow has always been tiny and does not really help my room. This is specially true in the summer as I have to keep the doors wide open to let AC cool air from the hallway make its way here. I recently bought and installed the AC Airtap (I call it Tap for short) after seeing a couple of reviews online for it. Installation was an absolute breeze, I took my old register out and put this one in and it fit snugly in the vent. This tells me it is making a good seal in there so any airflow coming in is definitely boosted by the fans. The physical buttons and screen on the register are easy to handle and operate, however the programming is definitely not intuitive and the user manual is needed to understand the options available. The Tap has a few modes of operation that are mostly self explanatory: OFF, ON, Auto, Timer, Cycle. For my review I am only focusing on Auto as that is the main mode probably most folks are interested in. The Auto mode configures the register to sense the air temp using the built-in thermostat, and when the temperature falls below or above a certain threshold, the built-in fans kick in. So there is no separate cool setting and hot setting as seen on online videos, it is all now included in the Auto setting so you set a cold air temperature and then a hot air temperature if desired. For example if you live in a place that only needs cold air, you can set the hot air value to something really high so it will not kick/trigger on the "hot" side. One big thing to keep in mind is the register is in reality running at all times, and it has two modes: by default the fans in the register are running at Min speed, and when air temp desired is detected then the fans switch to Max speed. By setting a Min speed to 0 (zero) the fans are stopped, which is what I was expecting. I had changed the Min/Max speeds to 5/8 respectively thinking it was for fan speed ramping up and I was very puzzled when the register kept turning on the fans even when my AC/heating was off. I have them set now to 0/4 and that works great. Also when the fans kick in around that 4-5 level the noise level is fairly decent, sounding exactly like a PC with fans running at full speed. Higher levels mean higher noise so that's something to keep in mind. One MAJOR feature not listed or made obvious is the register has built-in Bluetooth capabilities. You download the app and then you can configure the register using your phone. This interface is much better for programming instead of using the onboard buttons and figuring out the ways to change the temps and settings using only 2-3 buttons. Not sure why this is not advertised in the main features of the product and that is something that is a big plus for anyone interested. The app has the ability to track when the register was on-off, how the air temp changed overtime and more statistics that you may find very interesting if you are a tech geek like myself. Overall, this is a great product and I highly recommend it. Read more

Fantastic performance! Someone recommended these to me and after reading the reviews of how customizable the app is, I chose this AC Infinity brand over other offerings. I must say, "WOW!" were they ever right about the effectiveness of these. I will say that on their highest fan setting, the sound is definitely noticeable. But knowing that sound is delivering much-needed heat I quickly got over that. The thing I like about is that you can control the speed of the fan based on the temperature of the air coming across it. This means you can crank it up as needed automatically and slow it down as it has flushed all of the treated air from the duct work. I think it proves something we don't really think about: There is a lot more treated air in the ductwork that does not get sent to the rooms after the furnace fan turns off. With these in place, they are able to continue sucking some of that treated air into the room -- basically giving that room an extra dose of treated air (I use the word "treated" because in winter, we are taliing about heated air, whereas in summer we would be talking about cooled air. Either way, the room in question can now be given its unfair share of heat/cool air instead of it sitting in the ductwork going to waste. Great product. Giving it 5 stars. It would be amazing if they were to somehow make the fans quieter at the highest settings. But still a great product. I only let it ramp up to level 8 out of 10 and it works amazing. Read more
