Reading other reviews about how flat these pillows arrive, and how they sometimes don't puff up easily, I was a bit surprised to find that mine both arrived fully puffed up in the mailing boxes. Perhaps both of mine weren't initially perfectly vacuum packed so they managed to puff themselves up in transit. Whatever the reason, they both arrived fully puffed up and ready to be stuffed into my 11 x 22 shams. In hindsight, maybe it would have been easier to stuff flat pillows into the shams and let them puff up inside the shams. It wasn't hard to do by any stretch, but they fill the shams up very nicely. No smell, no lumps, easy peasy. Comfy and attractive lumbar pillows! Very happy. Read more

This is exactly what I was looking for to replace a 12X24 pillow insert that came with a decorative pillow case. The original pillow insert had a paper thin cover that was falling apart and getting holes in it. I also wanted an insert I could wash from time to time. This insert came flat which was great for shipping, clean and when I opened it, it puffed up nicely. I washed it on cold/delicate and dried it on normal/medium warm and it held up perfectly, like new after washing and very full, bouncy squishy and soft. I'd say it's slightly firm/soft which is what I wanted. It does not flatten out when you press on it. It stays plump and fluffy. Very happy with this purchase!
