Very resistant to tearing, but does fray

These floss containers are very small, and do not have a lot of floss. Maybe enough for 15-20 uses in each case. The floss is strong, and even with my extremely tight teeth did not break once. However, the floss does fray. In other words, if you have finger nails, you can pull the floss apart from the sides into lots of tiny strands. You'll feel this happening as you floss. Even so, it still didn't break on my sharp, tight teeth. The downside is that because it's made up of very tiny strands, this floss will dig deeper into your fingers, if you are a strength flosser like I am. You also need to be careful that if you have tight teeth and need to pull down into the teeth that you don't pull hard enough that it will slice into the gums once it finally gets through the teeth. It didn't happen to me but I felt like it could have it I wasn't cautious. I prefer single-strand, wide, high-strength floss over these. But these will work well as spares in my suitcases and backpacks so that I never am without floss while traveling. Read more
