I really like this product. My husband is a truck driver and I was looking for a good product that would remove the funky smell of "truck driver" from his clothes. It just so happened that I just received the product just as he came home with the worst smelling load of laundry I had ever smelled. He told me diesel fuel had splashed back on him the day before. So the clothes had been stewing in it for atleast 24hrs by the time I got them. They were good and ripe! I filled our garden bath tub up with hot water and 4 scoops of this magic product and dumped his clothes in to soak for an hour. After an hour I gave them a good rinse and did it again adding 4 more scoops. After one more hour of soaking (2hours total) i wrung them out and put them directly into the washing machine. I washed them with my usual Tide and dried them with a couple dryer sheets. They came out fresh and clean like NEVER BEFORE. I was so surprised I did this with our bedsheets and towels too. Everything came our crisp and fresh. No lingering odor, no weird smell after use. If your washing machine has a presoak setting I suggest using it so you don't have to bathtub soak like I did to get the full experience from this magic product. I am very impressed with it. Everyone in my household has sensitive skin and this hasn't bothered any of us. I've used this product on clothing, bedsheets, and towels. Its not something you need to use at every wash unless you are using it for gym clothes or in my case-funky truck driver clothes. If you have an HE washer and are doing a large load of towels, 3 scoops of product is optimal, on the presoak setting. If you are washing a large load of clothing in an HE washer, same thing, 3 scoops on the presoak setting. If you aren't washing much, then 2 scoops on presoak will get the job done. IT WORKS GREAT IN HOT OR COLD WATER!! I could see moms that cloth diaper their babies using this product for washing diapers since its so good at getting stains and smells out, and gentle on the skin. (This product might also be good for washing odd things like rugs and car seat covers, curtains, and tablecloths). I hope this review helps answer some questions. Read more

Searched for a detergent that cleaned my gym clothes without leaving a dingy smell. Have used the powder for about a month. Works as advertised. Cleans sweaty work out clothes very well leaving a fresh scent. I have already told friends about it. Read more

I have ordered a 2nd bag of this detergent. It takes the smell right out of musty clothes. Those sweaty athletic clothing sitting for a day or so in the basket also come out with a clean scent. The clothes do get clean from using this soap! It’s part of my laundry routine. It’s easy, I add a scoop (which comes with the bag) to a smaller amount of regular detergent. Love it and it’s a family owned business! So that’s another bonus! Read more

Waited over a year to post this so I could judge long term product usage. The challenge: sport garments such as polyester blend jogging pants, shirts, fleece vests and jackets, would have a permanent sweat-stank smell. I tried hot water, cold water, different detergents, different washing machines, even soaked garments in a solution of Odoban for 36 hours (a cleaning, anti-bacterial liquid) all to no avail. The garments would smell fine after washing (using Tide, All and other detergents) but 15-30 minutes after putting them on, the sweat smell would return - it was like the garment had been worn for 8 hours at the gym. It seems that the warmth of the body activated the smell to come out of the fabric. I used the Active Wear detergent and kept track of the # of washings. After just 2, I noticed that, for example, a sleeve would smell ok after an hour or two but maybe the chest area or the other sleeve would smell bad. Eventually, after repeated washings, the garments improved and became wearable again. So this was fantastic - I thought I would need to throw away a bunch of clothes, but I now had a solution. Long term: some garments are stubborn - I may get a normal full day of wear without any smell but other times, the smell will return after wearing for an hour (I'm not talking about wearing them while running in mid July - just wearing the garment in the house). Also, if a garment happened to be washed in regular detergent, by mistake or if we were staying in someone's home and used their laundry supplies, that darn smell would return after that one washing and wearing it for under an hour. So, that's why I headlined this as "Not a cure but the best product so far". I typically use a little more than one scoop of Activewear powder, tossed directly into the washer drum, cold water, and less than a full load garments. Read more

I'm so pleased with this product! I have a couple of sports bras that are mainly used for summer gardening and yardwork, and they had a persistent unpleasant odor. I tried several things, including a vinegar and baking soda soak, and nothing worked. I did some looking around at specialty detergents, and read the great reviews for Active Wear. I was a little surprised at the price, but decided to give it a shot. I put the bras in a large mixing bowl full of cold water with two scoops (the scoops are very small) of Activewear, and let it sit for several hours. They were fresh from the laundry before going into the bowl, but at the end of the soak, the water was actually slightly brown. Yuck! I then ran them through a cold wash with other yardwork clothes and 2 scoops of Active Wear. It's amazing - the smell is GONE! I used one for a tough work day, and even though it was damp and warm, there was ZERO bad odor. I am a big fan of this detergent now - the price is worth it, and the bag will last forever! Read more
