For the price I wish the quality was a little better, BUT the fit is great, it's light enough to wear any time of year, and it is very flattering. The black was my 2nd one so obviously the price/quality didn't deter me too much, although it did make me debate the 2nd purchase. As the headline states, this jacket creates a feminine shape even where none exists. I'm a bit older and saggy and lumpy and generally shaped more like a potato that has sprouted roots and less like an actual woman. This jacket fixed the problem--it's very flattering. The fabric is thick, the jacket is sewn well, the fabric stretches so it's comfortable. It's scary to buy clothing online. How do you know it will fit right or won't be made of tissue paper? Any truly plus-sized lady knows how difficult it is to find attractive clothing in our sizes. I was glad that this was genuinely plus-sized. With its being rather fitted, I would recommend that others order one size up, as I did. The caramel colour is a favourite of mine - that was the classiest 'neutral' during the 1970s, and difficult to find since, and this jacket goes with many colours (and matches shoes in this shade I found on Amazon.) I am short, so the peplum falls below my large hips - taller women might have to consider whether it would set off their curves or be too snug. The material is decent quality for this price range, and it is a special bonus that the jacket is washable. My only disappointment is that it has no pockets. Somehow, the model's stance gave me an impression of pockets being included, though they are only pleats. Overall, it is a good value, and quite versatile. Read more

I bought this to use in a stage show set in the late 1930's. It's not exactly period, but combined with the proper shoes, hair, and dress, it wasn't bad at all. I do wish it came in more sizes; it was actually a little big for the actor, so I would have liked to try a smaller size, but there wasn't one. We took it in in the back instead, and it worked fine, and looked flattering. It held up well during the show's run; no falling off buttons or anything, and it didn't require a lot of ironing.
