Cute but weird closure and no traction

These are cute and great for the price. But the closure is very strange. It’s difficult to put on especially if you have thick socks on. I am actually debating purchasing snaps or a different type of closure to sew on. Otherwise they fit well and seem comfortable. My other complaint is the bottom, there is very little traction.
