Just started using it today so cannot really speak to long term durability. However, the connections on each end snap firmly into place and the cable sheathing material seems to be well made (it is a woven nylon fabric like covering). I suspect that if you are not careful, it may eventually fray. However, the short length of the adapter (4 inches) makes it less likely that it will be repeatedly rubbing against an abrasive surface so I am not so concerned about this as I do not anticipate abusing this adapter. The reason I got this adapter is to be able to use my USB-C to USB-C cables on my iPhone and iPad. Generally, I use dedicated USB-C to Lightning cables, but I wanted to cut down on the number of cables that I needed when traveling Also, I wanted to be able to use my USB-C to USB-C cable that happens to have a digital meter on it displaying the power (in watts) when charging. For travel, it is a big plus that it is relatively short and so is easily transportable. Unlike the small thumb-drive like rigid adapters, it is less likely to be lost, AND, most importantly, does not extend the moment arm of the rigid piece sticking out of the Lightning port, making it less likely to accidentally get torqued, thus breaking either the adapter or the port as the short length of cable allows for flexibility and serves as a stress breaker between the adapter and the Lightning port on your device. Also, because of the shape of the Lightning end of the adapter, it easily clears my protective cases to fit into the Lightning port, even with a thick rubberized protective case (in my case an OtterBox) on my phone. The short length of the cord also does not seem to induce any additional resistance (at least any significant amount of resistance) into the line as charging times do not seem to be affected. In conclusion, for the short time I have been testing this adapter, it is working as planned for my use case and I am very pleased with this purchase. Time will tell of course regarding the durability of this device, as some others have reported early problems with the cord fraying and failure of the adapter itself. Read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Bought two for my new iPhone 17 for my stereo tuner (3.5mm to Apple lighting dongle) and it did not work. It turns out you need a data cable; this does NOT work as a data cable. What irritates me, aside from wasting money (can't return because it's from China) is that the advertising does not clarify this technical issue. Read more

I have used it between 2 different iPads (5th gen and a model from 2021) multiple times without have to keep track of/changing to the included charger/cable. I have a usb hub with a smart charging port connected with a 10 ft usb type c (fast charge rated) cable for my fire tablet and my android phones. This allows me to charge all my devices in the same area without a huge mess of cables, or having to change cables. Read more
