Catches oil that would have been deposited on valves

I think thi is a necessity on older cars with direct cylinder injection, called GDI, gasoline direct injection. If you have one of these engines with over 150k on it, beware. I added this can and its definitely catching oil that would have been deposited on my intake valves. After a few months I'd say my engine feels stronger and runs better. I catch about 1/4 cup ever 2 months or so. Now it might nor seem like a lot, but I also have been using 10w30 instead of the recommended 5w20 oil. If I were using the thin oil, I would probably catch 1 cup per month, because that was the rate the engine was consuming the thinner oil. The installation did require buying some vacuum hose and I had to do a few adapters to get everything to fit nicely, but I'm glad I started doing this because the amount out buildup was killing my engine, not to mention the catalytic converter which had to be replaced before I added the catch can and increased the oil viscosity. I purchased 2 of these catch cans for my 2015 expedition one from flebay and one from here this product was almost half the price compaired to the flebay model. This model didnt come with the hoses, or the ford fittings, the quality of hardware in this can isnt near the others quality. This can has a smaller baffel you dont get any stainless steel wool to catch more vapor like the other one. the hardware that came with the other was superior as well! Its the little things like better quality bolts and lock nuts opposed to this ones basic hardware all in all there basically the same and this is a good value considering you pretymuch can get 2 for 1! So its definately an aceptable product that will serve its purpouse! Read more
