When I'm looking for an air purifier, I have two things chiefly in mind: ease of use, and quiet. Performance is hard to quantify but in my experience, even the cheapest of purifiers manage to sandwich together some filters and shove air through them quickly. They'll make a lot of noise doing it, but almost never fail to work, at least on a basic level. This one does not disappoint with the quantity of air it can push or how well it can purify the air. The filters seem somewhat on the slim side, but I appreciate the two-sided intake. I think the design is limiting its capacity a bit, because it's designed with some pretty small openings for air to come through and I think it may be pushing harder to get the same amount of air it could if those panels were perforated. That's all just a guess, as I can't really test performance objectively. So as for the things I'm looking for! Ease of use: The buttons along the top and lights alongside them are very deliberate and easy to read. I had no need to even open the manual to figure out how to operate this air purifier, and the tactility of the buttons makes operation very certain and straightforward. One complaint though: the night mode button lights up when in use, and seems fairly bright. You will want to grab some LED dimming stickers (preferably white, so they don't stand out) if lights at night bother you, as they were nice enough to turn off everything else, but the LED indicator for night mode is just as bright and illuminating as the rest. That's a bit of a shame, especially given the "night mode" being advertised seems to say it specifically turns off the lights. Unless I'm missing an extended timer or light-based threshold to turn off the LED, I feel like that's some misleading advertising. Quiet: The fan noise is fairly nice and even, a pleasant white noise if you like that for sleeping. This unit may be among the loudest I've personally used when it comes to its quietest mode, as it can be heard very gently even across the room. It's absolutely not "loud", quieter than any fan at least, but it is audible without having to put your ear up to it. Given its competition ranges from completely silent to near-silent, it's a little disappointing this unit couldn't quite manage to do the same. It's a pleasant sound that's not bothersome if you use either lower setting and probably won't bother you, but if you're looking for 100% silence while in operation, this one doesn't go that low. Overall, for a small unit, I think it's fairly capable. The price may be a bit high and I'm really on the fence between 3 and 4 stars here, but I do think some of the core functionality and competence in its design do elevate it above the "cheap" options, even if others manage silent and zero-light operation better. It works great but the instructions are awful! The ad said the filters could washed and re- used but didn’t show how they would come apart for cleaning! Then said there were replacement filters but where do you order them! It would be nice if it had wheels you could wheel from room to room! Read more
