I decided to review this air filter because we sometimes get smoke from Canadian wildfires, and the air quality drops significantly to unhealthy levels. I got this for our toddler's bedroom which has a window that directly overlooks some trees that give off a ton of pollen that make it through our screen. Also, air quality has frequently been an issue in recent years so we wanted to get an air purifier to minimize his exposure to particulates. I like this unit a lot because it effectively removes the smoke smell. It has a few features that I enjoy, including a timer that will auto shut off after 2, 4, or 6 hours. I love the two-hour setting it keeps the air fresh but doesn't run the unit all day long. 3 fan speed settings include sleep mode which is very very quiet but doesn't move much air. Low, which sounds like a computer fan and does a good job at keeping the air fresh, and High speed, which sounds very loud like a noisy fan but does a great job of removing odors from the air quickly and efficiently. The unit is larger and more powerful than other air purifiers I have tried and I appreciate the extra power for keeping the air smelling clean and fresh. I'm sure there are better units out there but for the price I think this is a great air purifier and it has done a good job of keeping the air clean and smoke free when I need it to be. I will continue to use this product for the foreseeable future and will look to change the filter after 6 months or when it looks like it needs it. Having three cats and always trying to keep your home spotless is sometimes not enough in the conventional sense. This air purifier was the missing link and now the difference is noticeable. I clean their litter box several times a day because I cannot stand the smell and I do not feel it is hygienic for the cats or my family to breathing in cat box odors and their dander, as well. I do not like plug in scents or sprays that simply mask unpleasant odors. Maintaining a clean home, clean litter boxes and using this small but mighty air purifier is where its at. Don't let the size fool you, it purifies the air in your surroundings quickly, quietly and efficiently. It is also very easy to clean and doesn't take a lot of space compared to the big floor models. Picked this up for a small bedroom that tends to get a little stuffy, especially in the evenings. Great quality and easy to use. For the price you could get a name brand with more features. This one lacks app usage, remote control, and is a little louder than the average air purifier. The timer function is nice since it doesn’t have any remote feature, so in a way you can still set it and forget it. I try to be fair in my 'grading system', giving hones opinions of products so others might know what to expect. Sometimes... like in this case, it can be difficult to give a 5 star rating.. and at the same time, difficult to find a reason to deduct a star. So... 5 stars for the benefit of the doubt. This machine was a bit smaller than I anticipated, but that is fine. I ordered it to place in the guest bedroom in advance of some guests arriving. It is pretty quiet, looks nice enough (unobtrusive), and (I think) seems to work pretty good. We have a larger unit in another part of the home and even after a couple of years it is difficult to tell the difference (other than taking note of the filter). I suspect the same will be true with this one. Any proof of success will be revealed upon inspecting the filter. Read more
