I ordered this "ARM & HAMMER AH301W-1 Air Purifier with Night Light, HEPA Filter Captures 99.97% of Smoke, Pollen, Pet Dander & Odors, Quiet for Bedroom, Office, Home, Pearl White" for my son's apartment bedroom because of its small size and reliable name brand and reasonable price with discount. This unit is small but works well and is ready to use. It is listed as efficient for 130 sqft room which is an average secondary bedroom size. It is pretty quiet on low seeing and gradually louder with the higher settings. The highest setting is equivalent to a good white noise machine at a moderate volume. The nightlight has multiple brightness settings and is a nice addition to the unit. It is a fairly simple set up with a base that holds the replaceable 2 stage filter and a top that sticks on magnetically with the 4 control buttons on top that are pretty self explanatory. I haven't used it long enough in a small enough space to comment on how well it cleans the air. But it has a pretty strong airflow at highest level and should do a pretty good job in a small space. The filter has a pre filter overlay that should be easy to wipe down regularly and it recommends changing the HEPA filter over a year after daily 12 hr use. The biggest negative I have with this unit is the cost is the replacement filters is almost the cost of the entire unit when new. Hopefully some deals for the replacement filters pop up or I'll have to reconsider whether to replace with a different unit that has a less expensive replacement filter cost or a forever filter that can be cleaned when the time comes which is frustrating and not environmentally friendly. This Air Purifier with Night Light has been a wonderful addition to our home. The HEPA filter is excellent at capturing smoke, pollen, pet dander, and odors — we’ve definitely noticed a fresher, cleaner air quality in our bedroom and living areas. I love how quiet it is, even on higher settings, which makes it perfect for use while sleeping or working. The night light feature is a nice touch — soft and calming without being distracting. The pearl white design looks modern and fits in well with any decor. Maintenance is simple, and the filter replacement process is straightforward. Overall, this is a reliable, stylish, and highly effective air purifier that I’d recommend for anyone looking to improve their indoor air quality. Read more
I was looking for an effective air purifier to use in our unfinished basement because I have found that if I am down there playing with my kids or cleaning for awhile, I start to cough. Since my son recently set up his drum kit in the basement and is spending more time there, I knew I needed an air purifier stat. This covers the right amount of space to surround his drum kit and the chair sitting next to it where my husband or I sometimes sit to listen to him play. We usually set it on a level two, which might not be the most efficient for the cleaning necessary in the space, but anything above that is just too loud. We have found the unit easy to use and no longer cough when sitting near it, so I think it is working effectively. The price is very good for an air purifier of this size, so as long as you don't mind the noise at higher levels, this is a good buy. Read more
I’ve had a number of small-room purifiers over the decades, and this Arm & Hammer model stands out for a few smart design choices. The 360° filtration really does make a difference. Unlike front-intake models, it pulls air from all directions, which helps circulate and refresh a small room noticeably faster. Within a couple of hours, the air feels lighter and less stale, especially in a bedroom or office where dust tends to collect. The touch controls are intuitive and well laid out. I like that it offers four fan speeds, including a surprisingly powerful Turbo mode, but the real win for me is the Sleep Mode. It’s whisper quiet (more of a soft hum than a fan sound) and the adjustable ambient light makes it double nicely as a nightlight for kids and nurseries. It’s compact but solidly built, and the filter design is easy to replace (a common frustration with some purifiers in this price range). The coverage area of 130 square feet is realistic. It’s ideal for kids’ bedrooms, nurseries, or a small office, but you’d need something larger for open-concept spaces. I appreciate Arm & Hammer’s filtration expertise. The HEPA filter does the “heavy lifting” for fine particles, but the added odor-neutralizing component helps with lingering food smells or pet smells. You can tell it’s working when you walk into a room that just feels fresher. The filter is also supposed to be long lasting on this unit, which saves money over time. Just note: the top glows red (I think to match their red branding) when the unit is off, so if you prefer total darkness, that’s something to be aware of. It is not flashy, but it does its job exceptionally well. If you want clean air without a loud fan or bulky footprint, this is a great little purifier that punches above its size. Read more
