Timeless and Comfortable
This dress is just phenomenal! So first, the fabric. It is quite stretchy, and allows for sitting, bending, crouching, and reaching without ever a worry about the fabric giving way with a tear or rip. It is not what I would describe as heavy, but nor is it light. It’s a classic mid-weight synthetic. This means it will not be prone to wrinkling. These pictures were shot right out of the package, and although it’s not perfect, I will need to give it a few hits here and there with the iron, and it’s doubtful I will have to do much again. I wash my dresses in cold water and hang to dry, and generally come out wrinkle-free. Many, many dresses sold here on Amazon are of a similar fabric, and when we travel, I just roll them, toss them into the suitcase, then hang them up when we arrive, and they look perfect. This dress is bodycon to the max. It follows ALL of your curves, even the ones you aren’t particularly fond of. You might want to consider sizing up so that it’s not super tight on you, as this fabric will show any and all rolls and lumps/bumps without mercy. I have to mention that, because If you tend to be uncomfortable with that, it might not be the dress for you. If you’re confident in your skin, just be sure to wear shapewear with strong holding power, and a dazzling smile, and you will look great. The styling details are what set this apart. The shoulders with the faux-shawl neckline is very graceful, and gives excellent balance to those who carry much of their weight in the lower half. The sleeves are 3/4, perfect for keeping the chill off. It showcases a small waist to perfection. The length hits just below the knee on me. There is a kick pleat at the bottom, in the back seam, to make for easy walking. For reference, I am 5’5”, 118 pounds, and the small fit quite well. It even fits the 34DD “girls” without crushing them. It looks great worn all by itself, or I attached a picture of it with the addition of a thin black belt. Both ways look good. The green color is a true forest green, although it almost looks like a pine, blue green in some of the pictures. It’s modest, with understated, yet unmistakeable, sex appeal, according to my husband. This will no doubt become a go-to in my wardrobe. Appropriate for date night or church, and because the color is dark and relatively subdued, it can even be worn for a funeral. To me, it gives off Audrey Hepburn vibes. I have included pictures that show it from the front with and without a belt, and from both sides, so you can see how the ruffle lays. This dress isn’t flashy; it doesn’t scream, "HEY, LOOK AT ME!" But I can promise, all eyes will be on you. Its style is both elegant and timeless. Read more
