When I escaped the Socialist Republic of Kalifornia, I found refuge in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. And I wasn't quite ready for the cold. But I quickly realized that when my neck is warm, I can handle almost anything. And as a plus, the gaiter can be pulled up over my nose when the cold gets extreme. It's also nice to be able to cover your mouth and nose during sand or snow storms. Or when I'm on the motorcycle, riding a dirt road with a jeep in front of me. AND, if you find yourself out in the sun without a hat, it quickly becomes one. It's sooooo much more versatile than a scarf, and the fact that you don't have to tie the gaiter is a huge plus (no knot coming loose, as they do with scarfs). The gaiter won't help you with totalitarian governments. But if you're ready to escape, take one or two along, so you'll be ready for anything. Read more

I bought this gaiter for use at my job. I spend 8+ hours outdoors patrolling, and have been using this gaiter 5 days a week, for 2.5 months as of this review. The gaiter is well made, though it does like to pill, and the little fabric nubs can feel odd on your face. It is effective at keeping your face temperate down to about 35 degrees fahrenheit, even with some wind. Anything below that or with winds above 15 mph and you start to feel the cold sink in. That being said, it is leagues better than not having a gaiter or having one of the cheap, thin ones. I would definitely recommend this product, especially for the price. Read more

I was skeptical about ordering this, but I am glad I did! It's thick enough to keep you warm, but not so much that it's irritating or uncomfortable. The material itself, ohmuhgud, it's so soft and comfy. Plus, like another reviewer said, you can reverse it and have the mesh on the backside of you want more warmth/protection. All in all, 10/10. Gaiter is a double layered soft thin fleece material with mesh near the mouth area, it is long enough to fold over itself for those extra cold days but still breathable through the mesh even when folded. Works best on cold days when folded 3/4 of the way down itself to double up around the mouth, nose and ears and the tail end tucked under the neck of the shirt near the collar bone.
