It has its own app but it joins the network easily and works well with Alexa. I was a little concerned when the description mentioned that it only works with 2.4 GHz networks and not with 5 GHz networks. My network has both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz with the same SSID (name) which was an issue with a LaCrosse weather station, but it was no problem with this dimmer plug. It joined the network right away. OVERALL: Amazing Product that is super easy to install, connect to network, keep connected after power outages and most of all easy to use! A+ I have the whole house set up with smart devices! Almost every light, plug, ceiling fan, speaker, garage door and thermostat can be controlled by voice with Alexa. It all started with a WEMO device and quickly grew to over 60 units from various brands; some work awesome and some, well let's just say they are no longer part of my system. I purchased the Treatlife single pole wall switch to see how their product worked. I was pleasantly surprised when after a quick install to replace the wall switch; I was able to connect it to my network in about two minutes after installing the app! It connected superfast and started functioning perfectly. Alexa became aware of the new device and immediately added it without needing to "discover" new devices. Since then I have purchased several other Treatlife items that I couldn't be happier with. This dimmer is fantastic! When I purchased it, I didn't realize that you could control two lights! I was going to use it for a single lamp, but I changed my mind to control the lamps on either side of my sofa. It's great because both lamps are immediately set to the same setting. I have LED bulbs in those lamps that had zero issues with smooth dimming up and down, no flicker or humming! There are settings to reduce these issues if needed, but I didn't experience any. With other much more costly devices, I had the devils time trying to get my lights to dim without humming or flickering. Finally, I live in Florida, where we often get thunderstorms and quick power outages that wreak havoc with many smart devices requiring them to be reset via their app. Not so with the Treatlife devices, they will return back to their prior state and will reconnect automatically to the network. This alone is reason enough to replace everything with Treatlife devices, no hassles, no issues, no kidding! So what's the bad news? I love this product so much that I want every smart device in my home from Treatlife! That's a lot of device replacements... so I will have to progress slowly... but it will be worth it because this truly is an amazing product that does everything they say it will! Read more

UPDATE 11/4/2022: I had to drop a star because the plug loosens from the housing making it dangerous to use. Extremely easy to automatically set up through the TreatLife app on my iPhone SE2. The device was also automatically recognized by a SMARTLife app that controls my other smart plug and automation. So, it seems that the plug is compatible with at least one other phone app. I am using this to automate (on/off/dim) my Turkish floor lamp through Siri shortcuts (NOT HomeKit). I LOVE that when the plug dims or shuts off, it dims or shuts off slowly/gradually. Well built plug that automates well which convinced me to buy another four pack of their regular smart plugs. Very good product and I will definitely consider more smart products from TreatLife, especially since the devices are recognized also by the SmartLife app. UPDATE 2/17/2022: After being unplugged and not used for about 6 months (but still set up as a device in the SmartLife app), I plugged into a socket along with my lamp and the SmartLife app immediately recognized it as online (even though I set up with a different network and ) and I was able to turn on and off within the SmartLife app without having to change wifi networks. (shrugging in confusion, but happy I do not have to change to older wifi network. I see other reviews having various problems, but I have had only success. Maybe because I use the Chinese app (with their industry standardizations) rather than an American app (with different industry standardizations)? Read more

after 3.5 years of use, it no longer can be found in the Alexa app, so my routines tied to it no longer function. I set up routines in the Treatlife app, and they work about 25% of the time. I open the app when the light plugged into it is supposed to be on, the app shows it to be on, toggling the power off and on doesn't power it on, and only seeing a different brightness level turns the light on. The brightness in question is set at approximately 31%, so it's not so dim as to be unnoticeable when it's supposed to be on. I have to set it to 40% brightness or higher for it to turn on. It's not an issue with the lamp or the bulbs. There's something wrong with the plug. I do not believe 3.5 years is enough time for yet another plastic item to end up in the ever-growing landfill problem we continue to feed with mediocre products. Read more
